I see no real purpose to tanks. They cost to much and too much to maintain. Unless turrets don't defend against an artillery barrage?

Only ss/ps use all units. The other ones are specific to one unit.

Tanks are better for nw than turrets, turrets are better for pure defensive points.

As Tmac says tanks are actually cheaper than turrets in terms of NW. Tanks are worth 2 NW each, turrets are 0.6 so you will gain more NW for your money buying tanks from your private market than turrets, tanks being worth 333% more in NW but usually priced only 300% more than turrets.
