Congrats to those who made the cut to stay in A! It was a difficult set with such a short tech supply. I did 75% of my jump from the public market prior to buying enough military tech to buy on private and ended with bus/res around 172% (which is very low for a top casher). Land of Little People put up an excellent score as well for a set that didn't have a lot of attacking and therefore low military sales for most of the set.

Also special congrats to philtre for staying in the top ranks despite being in a war. That's always a victory.

I'm going to take a break for a bit. Good luck to all of you next set.

There may not be a high scoring techer out there this set (maybe that's the cause of the low tech supply). Sometimes $29M will win the set. https://www.earthempires.com/tourney/171/ranks

Yes, you can reach $35M, but it's hard as an all explore. Market prices play a role too. I don't normally build past 200 CS though.

I agree with removing alliances from primary server. They are already removed from Tournament. I don't play express so can't speak to that one. Primary would benefit from having ~30% less tech supply. Removing DA's will make it harder for the top players to outrun retals without jumping out of range. I'm not really sure if any impact will be had from removing IA's at all.

Currently in primary some players that don't have DA's get farmed early and the more aggressive grabbers continue to build a land advantage that eventually allows them to break GDI and jump out of range, thus expanding the pool of land they can gain. Without that initial and somewhat arbitrary advantage of being able to grab anyone without a DA without risk of being retaled, it will make it harder to gain an advantage in primary (similar to Tourney, but with more players and a longer set to help differentiate best, from good, from new).

Congrats all. This was the first time I remember that 3 countries in A finished above $35M. $35M is good enough to win most sets.

well I'm never going to tech again so I can play a farmer. I played a farmer/oiler to around 100M a couple years ago. The tech demand at this point in the set can only support 60k acres of techers. With tech prices under 2k and food above 50 there is no chance for a techer to stock and win.

When there were more players and a greater chance of not getting farmed I think the cash start rules but with the lack of land now it sticks out like a sore thumb having all that land and guarantees you are a target. My typical fault is to assume they are trying to maximize their NW finish. If they were, then they would clearly stop at 1 attack on any capable target (even if they don't know who the person is). Unfortunately at this point even without going to war the country that took advantage of my cash start couldn't keep up and isn't worth taking the retals on.

I'm not proud of my effort this set...but I don't believe anyone in the top 10 has broken GDI on me...and if they do I will do my best to make sure they don't finish in the top 10.

Req, my perspective on this is that while off strat buildings lower overall efficiency it's not at all straight forward as to how many off strat buildings to build, if it should be a complete rainbow or targeted at one other strat and when/if you should destroy them and rebuild on strat. These decisions won't make a tremendous difference but they can be points of differentiation within the top 10.

I played an awful CI last set, so my experience shouldn't matter for anything. I don't think that Indy was overpowered and I don't agree with the nerfing of Indy to begin with. I would change the bonus to -15%.

With that said the number of Indy bots has a positive as well as the obvious market negative. There were almost always bots that had close to 0 DR to attack. And the bot break for Indy's was fairly low because of their Jet vs Turret production. Don't delete bots, it's too soon to think we have the market equilibrium figured out. It's also unclear to me the value of extra targets vs market price reduction.

I bounced an attack earlier this set as well forgetting to send the 10% extra. I did account for the allies in that situation though. The most complicated part though is the difference between "Calc SS Def In Turrets" & "Min Jets Hit"...don't use the wrong one they aren't the same.
