So if anyone wants to play I got a 10 team league set up on ESPN. A few people are already in, but need some more. So if you want to play get me you email and I will send you an invite.

I am doing a league manager league so you have to be invited to join, which is lame what is the only way I can edit stuff :P

Also the draft is set as a snake draft and is set for Wendsday night but I can change the date.

So is it better to buy troops, jets or turrets at the end of a set to improve networth? Because troops are cheaper but give less networth.

Felix won a couple of years ago so its not out of the question. What will decide it, obviously, is who can sustain or even improve on their performance, though it is harder to get better than perfect haha :D

I am from Washington so grew up listening and following them. but there is hope down in the minors and in a few of the young players on the big league club.

If you are going to use that comparison then why don't cyclists from the road courses do BMX? Because they are really different, just as halp-pipe is way different than the other snowboard events. I mean sure he could do them, but the only thing they have in common is that you ride a snowboard.
Besides say what you want but snowboarding is in my top-3 most interesting events in either Olympics.

About Phelps I think he is one of, if not the best, swimmer ever. But I don't think you can call him the greatest Olympian ever. I mean for example look at Shaun White and Misty May-Traenor and Kerri Walsh. Shaun has been the most dominant snowboarder ever (since the sport is new) but can only win 1 medal per Olympics. Traenor and Walsh can only win 1 medal even though they have never lost a single match in the Olympics. They will never reach Phelp's lofty 22 medals and 18 golds, but that doesn't mean they were any less dominate in their sport as he was. So I think it is unfair to the other Olympians when people call Phelps the greatest Olympian ever.

Oh and Pontius Pirate there shouldn't be any reason to be getting upset in a thread about the Olympics unless there is some sort of controversy... I mean is there really a winning country in the Olympics? Look at some of these countries that send like 30 or less athletes and win like 2 medals and are thrilled. I enjoy competition and if there was no competition in the world it would be pretty boring, but that doesn't mean that there always has to be a winner and loser in EVERYTHING. Yes the individual athletes win or lose, but the countries don't win or lose... The Olympics are supposed to be fun to watch. People don't, or shouldn't, root for their country the same way as a Pro team or College team. I mean there isn't an even playing field amongst the countries.

Ok well it looks like this is becoming a pointless and unending argument. I understand that NBC cuts stuff out of the events in their coverage, that is their decision to make as they spent the money to broadcast the Olympics. They are not perfect but they aren't that bad either. I enjoy watching the Olympics, even the events that America isn't going to win. In conclusion the Olympics are awesome to a lot of fun to watch. So we should just agree to disagree I guess :D

What do mean that the tape delays are only so they can cut out footage? I don't watch in the afternoon since I can't but I assume they show live events then. But starting in NBC's primetime coverage at 7pm Central all the events are tapedelayed because at that time it is the middle of the night in London. So... kind of hard to show live stuff haha.

Also about the other great stories you are correct, there are a lot of events I will never see. I don't have cable so I can only watch NBC coverage. Also don't know how much free time you have on your hands but with a full time job I can't sit in front of a TV and watch the Olympics all day (though that would be pretty sweet :D) So anyway of course with so many events happening simultaneously and with the time difference I will not get to see some of the events.

I personally have enjoyed this Olympic coverage as much as the previous Olympic coverages. About the tape delays I don't see how NBC can get around that, I mean England is I think 6 hours ahead ( of the central time zone). The only way they could show it live would be in the early morning and afternoon, which I think they do, don't actually know because I have job so can't exactly watch at the time :P Never tried web streaming before, so have no experience in that area. And about the last point as an American its not like its hard for NBC to find a compelling American storyline in about every sport that is interesting to us Americans. I mean in men's swimming we got the greatest swimmer of all time. In women's swimming we have world record setting swimmers. In all 4 volleyball sports we have defending gold medalists, and world number 1 teams. In basketball we are absolutely dominating. In gymnastics we had really good teams. Also I would rather have NBC talk about an American athlete than some other countries athlete. While I don't know for sure I am assume that other countries show and talk about their athletes if they are competing in an event, and when you have over 500 athletes competing there are plenty of people to talk about, which is why it can seem that we don't care about the rest of the world :P

In conclusion: Americas awesome :P, we have a lot of athletes, we win a lot :D, and if you don't like it too bad ;)

And then the guy from Jamaica and he went to Arizona State and now trains in California.

Yeah it is crazy how many international athletes train and compete in America. Don't know of any other country that has the college sport system that we have, or at least at the same magnitude as us.

... what gymnastics were you watching, i watched the gymnastics too and they showed other people competing when an american wasn't competing. NBC switches to other people if an american isn't competing its just that when you have over 500 athletes and are in 27 of the 28 sports there are plenty of american athletes to watch. Also we are medaling in like 90% of all the sports shown on NBC.

Don't know if anyone knows/cares but Misty May-Tranor (don't know about the spelling) and Kerri Walsh lost their first set ever in the Olypmics. The had won like 36 straight set over two olympics and like 2 games in this one. Pretty impressive, still haven't lost a match in the olympics ever though.

I wonder if they should make like a capped alliance server for those who want to do netting and occasional war, just on a smaller level. And make a server called like war server where the only ranking is total team kills, no netting ranks.

How true! As a current engineering student I totally know what you are saying, I had someone ask me like a month after my last calc class what I had done in the class and I was like... "uhhh.. some integrals and 3d graphing and stuff....." I am no genius but I got like a B in the class so its not like i didn't try :). Calc is obviously not algebra but understanding why something is important is half the battle of learning it. If students, such as myself, understand why they should learn what they are learning they will try harder and do better, at least that is true for myself. It's hard to get motivated to study for something you don't think you need to know.
