It would seem to be you may be spending an extraordinary amount of time taking these dumps - which is increasing the likelyhood you have someone else enter the bathroom and piss in the toilet instead of the urinal.

I suggest fibre. Lots of fibre, to help regulate your dumping better. try to get down to one dump a day, and no more than 3 or 4 minutes per dump.

Truly,

This is the best time of year. The time when real sports start to be played again.

No longer do we have to suffer through f1uffy baseball games and f1uffin soccer watching grown men kick a ball around for hours and not score goals.

September means NFL starts now and NHL starts in a few weeks. It means I made it through another August without killing myself trying to enjoy watching the Jays lose their 84th game in a row.

God bless America!

I could give you my informed and accurate (and respected) opinion on the top 23 allainces....but first tell me if you want it by Total Members, Total Networth, or Average Networth.

I will not however, under any circumstances, reveal my source.

Power against who? Bots? Dont need power from that.

The Alliance server is built around the concept of the power of societies (clans, alliances, FDP's, etc) to exert their will over others. If the game became who could be most effective at farming AI countries who, while they may hit back, don't hit back with emotion or real risk, or even discussion, then the game changes. It doesn't become an alliance game, it becomes a contest of who can build the best group of bot farmers together on a server.

Bots dont need Ministers of War, Ministers of Foriegn Affairs, and ALPHA divisions specializing in kicking the f1uff out of those who think they can push the limits. Without the emotional, unpredictable nature of human interaction, it becomes a single player game. Players may join the same tag, but not for any reason other than show.

The game doesn't need bots, its needs new players with real emotions, biases, vendettas, mistakes, and unfortunate tendencies.

The alliance server isn't a one player game. If it was, then single players wouldn't get the f1uff farmed out of them. It is a game of relationships, and no AI can reproduce that. If Earth could, then I would build an army to take it down because Skynet would have arrived.

So you throw in enough bots so that everyone can spend all their trusn grabbing lands from robots, and not worry about other real countries or alliances....on the alliance server...

Tell me again what the point would be? It is to make Earth empires a single player game?

I don't think land is comparable to XP, Networth is comparable to XP. Land is just another factor in it, like military, etc.

Land should be a huge factor in calculating XP, maybe more so than it is today.

To me, bots just address the symptom of the real problem which is lack of players. The time spent coding bots could be better used in expanding the reach of the game through mobile, facebook, etc.
You dont want the game becoming 2000 fake countries and a hundred real ones because no additional effort was made to bring in new players.

Now that being said, there are some cool things you could do with bot AI that could be fun. But this is a player vs. player game, and I just don't see bots fitting in. Bots would shift things more to a single player model.

Very interesting topic, and even though I was years removed from the game, I gots some opinions on a lot of what was said here, specifically for the alliance server.

1. Get rid of this extra land (ghost land or whatever it's called) f1uff. I am sure there were good reasons for it, but I see it as quite pointless. Land should come from exploring alone. Land trading nettting to more land than we started with just makes no sense to me whatsoever, and kills off a lot of the "realism" of the game. If anything, land should disappear due to war, with radiation and destruction, etc. I am guessing the extra land was to make alliances grabbing alliances happen more often, but the side effects are dumb.

2. Put more land in the game by either making exploring more lucrative, or by incorporating exploration tech. An all explore farmer should be a pacifist route that someone invests in.

3. Grabbing is pretty lucrative, keep it that way with a slight increase to gains to counter the fake bonus land removal.

4. Facebook yes. But since this is a pretty simple HTML game, then why not a google app as well. I play from my phone as much as I do from a computer. An app would make it oh so much easier. As far as app creation goes, an html port is one of the simplest. Find out the cost estimate, and then put together a kickstarter (kickstarter.com) to get some quick funding to do it.

5. Join the AVC. The problem with this game is too many vegemite loving hippies and not enough vegemite hating lords. You already hate the stuff, so make it official by joining the AVC

6. For the players sick of alliances not allowing grabs - deal with it. Seriously. It is the alliance server. Nothing has changed here in 15 years, and there are other server options. Of course none of them have the fun, fear, and activity of the alliance server, so you have to play here. Join an alliance, or go rogue - I have had fun doing both. But expecting all the alliance leaders to get in a room and decide to not have retal rules and DNH's is ridiculous. First thing I would do after that meeting is call up MD make sure sure that the new "No DNH" agreement didnt apply to us *wink* wink*

7. Help out the little guys by making sure all attack rules (networth and GDI) are top down only. The only limitation a little guy should have on their ability to attack a big guy is the power of their weapons and their own skill. Does it already work this way? Actually I don't even know anymore.

8. Bot countries...they would be farmed to nothing so quick that exploring would be a better option than attacking them.

9. See #1. Land trading is stupid

10. LaF is ranked too high

I have to agree on the Terminator movies :)

I tend to struggle with opinions on movies that don't match my own lol. It has lead to hundreds of heated debates over beers.

This is confirmed.
Additionally, the mighty clan(danger) will be assimilating into the Omega for next reset, and practicing new hippie net gaining strategies to prepare for sames return.
Since Sam is unable to complete confirm this, Patience will be by soon to confirm for him

Your question was should you reactivate? Yes. Probably.

As for paying with Plex, It depends on where you were playing, and plex cost at the time.

If you are in a good alliance, with GOOD 0.0 space, ratting, and running plexes, and the market selling that goes with it, then you could pay for your month, and still keep your self fitted and fighting as necessary (assuming you played lots, a casual player could not do this every month) I personally never bought game time in game, I preferred to pay my regular monthly fee, and put all my in game money towards the ridiculously pimped out ships i would lose on a daily basis :)

LOL, of course they do, but its really only the fluffty ones that complain. Anyone who takes a little time to learn how to play, doesnt complain, and over the past few years, much like Earth Empires, they have really made it easy to start up.

Guys who have been playing for 5 years will have bigger ships, and better guns. But it is quite balanced. You can be effective as a new player very quickly, just in different ships. Plus there is so much to choose from when deciding what to do, or what to train, that it is not very hard at all to get really good at one thing and then expand from there. Guys playing for 5 years do the same thing, expect they are really good at 500 things...

I have played Eve off and on for the last 6 years. It is quite fun, and if you play right, you can play for free.

There are bots in Eve, but not ones that can destroy your stuff. More like mining bots, and shipping bots.

Eve costs about $8 a month to play. The difference with Eve is that if you want to buy newer, fancier stuff, you can buy "game time" and then sell it in the game for eve credits. The way they have set up the system, you can buy and sell these "PLEX" cards in game, so that someone industrious enough could buy your game time cards, for Eve money. He gets a month of play, you get a few hundred million credits in game. You end up paying real life dollars if you choose to, and the other guy pays $0 real life dollars to play the game. Its actually a pretty good system.

What's more interesting is that when you buy these game time cards in game, they become a real item. You transport them, store them, and sell them on the eve market. So if you are travelling in your ship with one, and you get blown up, it gets blown up too. They can also be looted. One player a few years ago had 75 of these blown up on his ship, which equated to about $2500 worth of game time...You can't however spend money to level up your character, that is strictly time based.

If you are thinking of exploring Eve, just know that it isn't WoW. It is cut throat, and war heavy. There is nothing in the game that is without risk.

Long time no see Darrian :)

i don't know what amazes me most about this game / AT forum. The fact that it is still here, and is largely the same, the number of people I recognize from way back, or the fact that a third of the posts could been copy and pasted from AT 10 years ago, and still have the same meaning :)
