If someone was to bet me whether or not this (alliance) game, in its various iterations, has enjoyed literally millions of thoughtful man hours.. I'd have to really think about that bet; a number with six zero's fix after it seems pretty big. Year after year, wardec after wardec, alliance after alliance, year after year & again, this is still, somehow, some strange, awesome corner of the internet. Dated and ugly, but with a real, human history behind it. Brought online in 1997? The community framework itself is nearly of legal drinking age.

New alliances or modern incarnations of old tags, no idea. But for the ancient pre-primetime alliances, I'd have to go with HAN Michael /OOA/ NorCal SOL / Inferno TIE and Fingolfin UCN. OOA being by far the weakest on that list, but a popular vector for emerging megalomaniacs in its earliest days.

The prime time 2k alliances went through leaders, spin-offs, tags, and stats like tree mulchers. Even in that dynamic and chaotic environment everyone was having a pretty good time; until RD came along and targeted nothing other than accomplishment.

Hope those guys are busy pumping gas somewhere cold.

You led war chats because you were a frantic & fanatic but never came anywhere near Rage or Arrow leadership in those days because you were about as stable as a mule in a.... er, (burning) stable.

If this were a court I'd call some of my 'worst' online enemies to my own defense. Nazar and I kicked the crap out of each other time and time again. He was a boy scout and I was a rager. We had an unsteady tolerance of each other online and every-so-often irl that involved a lot of in game attacks.

I mean, I fuc*ing hated UCN. He Hates SOF. I was alright with SOF and he was a member of UCN before starting Arrow.

I'd like to add that Alin got it right. After it became clear that the earth community as a whole shunned you for multies the whole earth community moved to no multies. People most often just don't get this. An alliance leader had two choices, go full evil or full clean.

The overwhelming majority went clean in the way that grape juice is tough to get out of a white shirt. Faded reminders of past transgressions or some such thing.

Displayed here are two awesome internet artifacts, Netscape navigator, the number one choice for anyone without a mouse in 2001, and the SETI project. Seti was kinda cool, a lot of earthers donated processing power to it for a time. It had nice graphics and no aliens.

The truth is I moved to middle earth (中国) looking to find a very special ring. After I found it I needed to bring it to a place called Mordor, also known as 辣妹尾巴. But my trusty friend who should remain un-named, lets just call him 'beer outpost' kept getting in my way. So I asked him what I should do and he said, dude join me in the Philippines and we'll be space pirates together.
