Thanks guys.

And just to verify, bonuses are multiplicative? e.g.
100,000*1.25*1.30*1.09 (let's say that 9% is defensive bonus)

Ok one more question. When are the gov't bonuses and weapon tech bonuses calculated?

For example, player A has 2 def. allies (B and C)
Player A has 130% weapon tech and is a dictator.

Player A has 100,000 defense points (not accounting weapon & gov't bonuses)
Player B has 200,000 defense points
Player C has 80,000 defense points

What is Player A's total defense points? is it...
1. (100,000 + 200,000/4 + 80,000/4)*1.30*1.25 or
2. (100,000*1.40*1.25) + 200,000/4 + 80,000/4 or
3. something else?

Thanks in advance!

The food spike could be all those tech start cashers that wanted to batch explore like 100 freakin turns. And of course to do that you must not run out of food, lol.

Could be other things like farmers converting to indy too.

Not sure...

Also Qazulight, I think most people have under 750k turrets around the 1.5-2.5M NW range, because well, to do 5 PS's a day requires 1M + jets...

For two days in a row I'm getting a display issue with the second from the top bonus. The site won't display any text for me to type, nor is the box visible.

Anyone else getting this?

Ok, I got one more question:

Let's say that I am attacking a country that has a total of 100,000 'defense points' (e.g. counting everything, troops, tanks, turrets, tech, allies, govt bonus etc...)

How many 'offense points' do I need to be successful in a landgrab? 100,001? 10% more? how much?

Thanks in advance

How can a single person have the market power to buyout oil/food/jets/turrets to full?

At least tech prices are low-ish (compared to last set at least?)

Jeez I can't even play my freakin turns hahaha =[

hmm yeah, I was expecting it to stay at like $60 until a week from the end. But people are responding to the price drop and even the farmers are selling @ $40-$45

Won't make prices go up unless people are going to stock food.

I read what I just wrote and it's a bit confusing.
I am pro-GDI for the most part, but I believe it can be tweaked a bit to be even better.

For most of the guys here that regularly finish top, you must also understand that without the 'newbies' this game will just die out. After all, having 30 players in 1A will hardly be interesting.

So there needs to be something done to address the GDI-related issues through the eyes of those that sit near the bottom as well.

P.S I'm nor bottom nor at the top if I recall my success in most of my attempts 10 or so years ago in e2025 lol.

On one side, it is frustrating to get grabbed by 20 different players once, and not do anything about it. It is also easy to go down that road once you make the 'news' front page, everyone joins in like sharks, and you lose too much land.

On the other hand, you can grab a country once for 200A then have someone hit you with 10 missiles and 20 ABs because they were having a bad day "next guy that hits me will get it".

So GDI was likely invented to discourage multiple grabs on a country from the same attacker. Although it begs the question, why doesn't GDI (as was previously suggested) allow 1 special attack to be made (excluding missiles) against a landgrabber?
This way, an attacker has to at least match the tanks and troops of the person they want to grab.

I hope I make sense.

Just to add:

If these changes result in more people playing indy, it will no longer favour them.

My comment is really about what changes will do to what strategy people will opt to play next round :)

eManny Game profile

Will these changes benefit Indies significantly?

Considering that more jets will be wasted I reckon that's going to have an upward pressure on jet prices. Even if indies build more jets to compensate for higher losses, they will still have to keep on their turret count to not get grabbed/retald too easily.

Just a thought, what do you guys think these changes will do to the composition of farmer/indy/casher/oiler/techer in Primary?

And another question. Is this the point in round where people jump in NW to start feeding on the top 50? Or are they jumping to defend against possible topfeeds/retals?

Ive noticed some players jumped 7M in 2 days

Does the private market refresh based on turns given or turns spent?

eManny Game profile

Will there be enough units on market for a jump? Doesn't seem like the game is as big as it used to be (Primary used to have 5K + when 'mehul' was running things).

There are currently no jets on market for example.

So how does this work?

eManny Game profile

Alright, so some of these questions are probably pretty easy, but I will ask anyways...

1. Does a spy operation (to check for # of units) count as an attack? e.g. if I do a spy op then a PS can the guy start nuking me?

2. Whats a good SPAL ? (for a casher let's say)

3. Do people spy op before PSing or do they go in according to news/nw/land/gut feel (this might sound stupid, but I went blindfold this set and I got 90% + success rate)

Thanks in advance, probably more to follow :D

I hope I get grabbed again this set @ 6K Acres for 300A so that I can retal 1 month later for 4K + :)

Makes no sense to me but if the top dogs go by it, "OK" :)

I will even post the # of turrets I have :P

Trying to figure out a stockpile strategy, which likely will fail ;) haha

What is FS?

Anyways, by not having a retal window benefits lower-end players. I am not sure why you would want to be part of that group.

Top players do not, and should not wait to retal when it benefits them "way more", because that will exponentially piss off their target more. It will end up in both players getting their set ruined.

If I get grabbed for 1K acres, then wait until my target has 50,000 Acres to retal, and get 6K, that's not called a retal anymore...

If you think that's OK... that's fine. But I suspect 99% of the time it wont be seen as a retal anymore...

eManny Game profile

72hours makes more sense to me than doing a retal on an attack that happened one month ago.

It is too easy to do a successful retal in an 'unlimited' window.
It is not about 'enforcing' a specific window, but it's about realizing what would piss someone off and what wouldn't.

If people know they topfed, they know a retal is coming.
On the other hand, if you grab a guy with 2M NW and one month from then he happens to grab you, that is just not going to be let go of.

So it's not about 'enforcement' it's about not pissing eachother off.

my 2cents anyways :)

when do cashiers/indies start the stockpile and stop the attacking phase? I figured some should have already done so, but judging by the land amounts required to win the game, it will be another week before ppl stop attacking...

I am a returning old-school player as well.
Started off thinking I will just do an all-x strat but realized that doesn't work anymore.

I'm kinda skinny but cash decently :)

What does topfeeding mean anyway? Above you in NW or something like top 25?

Yes, of course.

The optimal decision around BPT varies quite a bit, such as when you get grabbed, or whatever. Sometimes it's better to rebuild the CS you've lost to get the BPT where it used to be, sometimes not.

Some people go over their optimal BPT because they have no other way of spending turns (e.g. Do I cash? or build a CS?)

eManny Game profile

Member

Jul 18th 2013, 15:54:14

Hi,

Here is how I calculated my goal BPT based on my final Land goal:
(I don't claim correctness nor innovation, however this might give a rough idea for those who care ;))

Let X1 = # of CS built
Let X2 = # of turns spent building

Total turns spent (TS) = X1 + X2

TS = #CS + (Land Goal / (CS/4 + 5))
The idea is to minimize the amount of turns spent building on your land goal. The assumption is that you will build most of ur CSs early on (and most people do!)

I dont know how popular 100CS build on first 100 turns is, but believe it or not, at some point people did that ;)

So taking the derivative and setting it equal to 0, you will minimize the amounts of turns spent building on your land goal.

In the end, you get:

# of CS you need to build equals:
2*sqrt(Land Goal) - 20

Example:
If you want to end up with 20,000 acres, you need to build:
2*sqrt(20000) - 20 = ~ 260 CS or roughly 70BPT
