As mentioned, the fees and account annoyingness of Paypal (and their propensity to just freeze accounts and keep your money) means we've opted for just the other methods of payment for now. We're likely not going to generate enough revenue on PayPal that it'll be worth the hassle/risk at this point. Hopefully in the future we get there.

If anyone has worries about using a CC, we don't get any access to that data at all. It's all handled by the payment processor, which handles billions of dollars in transactions weekly.

The reason that it's on the same message is because it impacts the range and really narrows it down. It's not a complete "no attacks" thing, but I forked the message and added a new message for this.

Discord's API is limited to 120 events per 60 seconds, or about 2 per second.

During attacks, newsbots will far exceed this volume.

The way to get around this is to put the messages going to the channel into a queue and send the request to Discord every 0.5s if the queue has > 0 messages.

I haven't had time to add that logic into either a game-related bot or the IRC <-> Discord bot that we're using.
If someone else codes it into the IRC <-> Discord bot I'll see about setting it up, though!

There's still the obvious downside of potentially not having hits make it to the channel for 0.5s, which might upset some people who want their information to be instant (like IRC is).

Hi!

For the start of the next round of each server (and for the current FFA round), the following changes will be applied:


- Building returns from all SPECIAL attacks (BR + AB) are based on 10% of attacker's total built acres, not 10% of each specific building. This should mean that any country that has built the majority of its land will get regular returns for buildings.
- Restart bonus is re-enabled with the following changes:
- Number of defends before dying no longer has any impact on the restart aid calculation
- All restarts will receive 25% of their original country's resources at the time of death as the base calculation for resources to restore on the restart, rather than up to 95%
- All restart will receive 50% of their original country's resources on the market at the time of death, rather than up to 95%
- Turns, bonus points, etc will be counted the same way as before
- When looking up a restart country in-game through the country search, the original country # will be available on the search results page


We'll look at updating more stuff around the restart bonus and perhaps allowing countries to send a higher % of goods to restart countries via foreign aid. But for now, look for these new changes to take effect in the new rounds!

If people are more keen to get full turns + stored turned over a restart bonus that's easy enough to code in.

I've gotten a lot of mixed feedback on the restart bonus from ppl fighting this round. Folks here seem to want it off for the most part, but other folks who have messaged me privately want it restored as-is.

I like allowing other clan members to help their restarts get back into the fight quickly by providing a higher % of FA so if that alone feels like a good change I'll look at doing that!

Hi!

I'm trying to figure out the changes I'll put in for the next rounds of Alliance and FFA (Feb 9 and 6, respectively).

Not sure what I can get in in time, but I'm going to try and hammer out the following:
- Update building returns cap for attacks to be based on % of total built land, not % of type (for all attack types)
- Re-enable restart bonus but curb how much you get back + nerf benefits of walling (making it more of a mechanic that helps you if you get killed while unavailable). TBD on this.
- Update foreign aid so that countries can send up to 20% of their goods to countries that are restarts (still 10% to non-restarts).
