A couple weeks ago I was approached by a game mod and questioned about an issue. This issue had nothing to do with me, I was mistaken to be the player in question because he thought the username in question was me. It was not me. But in the course of the conversation I learned the general location (via IP) and the login username of another player.
I wasn't sure what to do with this information, because the mod that gave it to me is the "Mod Boss" and should know that just handing out that information isn't something they should be doing, even if it was a mistake.
To compound this, just last reset, I got an in-game message from a LaF player making personal threats to find me IRL and "destroy" me. The report got closed and deleted with nothing happening and despite repeated attempts to get an answer the threads and posts about it keep getting deleted.
I understand that this game is bleeding membership and putting effort into keeping it alive sometimes may feel like you would be better off bashing your head into a wall, but things like this should be some of the things the mods and devs actually care about.
Given the current climate of the game, being so bad the the devs took away the ability to war other clans, I think that it was good that I was the person that got this information and not someone who may be tempted to do something malicious with it. I don't like posting private conversations onto the forums, but I feel like this needs to be posted for transparency. And since Qz told me that it isn't a big deal that it happened, I don't think he will have an issue with me posting it here.

I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else in the future. I would hate for more people to leave this game because of the actions of the moderators.
