Can anyone explain the advantages of this strategy?

last turn of that set, in alliance its 20 mins before end of set and in express its 4 mins before set ends.

You don't rely on your private for the destock, as you've already dropped all but 2k acres ish to reach 35 dollar bushels.

You rely entirely on stocked oil- or for team fairly priced military sf forgot he left on the market for set end.

Don't listen to marshal. PM shrinks when you drop land. And it very much matters.

You can create units on your private market with oil though independent of your acreage. if you drop land after burning oil you will not be able to buy them which if your competition is not completely talentless will mean you lose 1-2 months of hard work. Havoc can tell you more about that.

There are plenty of ways to screw up but once you have the order of how to destock figured out you need only to get the right ratio of oil and food and then it is rather simple.

You want to do it after last turn has been given but that is only to maximize production. I would encourage both the thread starter and marshal to actually try this out for themselves, maybe on alphaffa just to learn.

when i posted my reply i didn't know that pm shrinks immediately not after next turn is given.

still my opinion is that getting fluffload of land and then dropping it near end after buying pm empty and then using oil to generate more pm units. hence no interest to try it.

it's certainly a more advanced technique and you need to do it in the right order or you fluff yourself as Gerdler said lol

I thought Oil destock was common practice these days... I am a grief·er and know the methodology.....

slightly wrong. you want to build MB before you switch to Mono and before selling your stock, or else youll lose lots of cash from decay :P
