I was wondering, even if you have a greater strength then you opponent is there still a chance that an attack can fail? I've made a few attack recently where I know i've got more attacking strength then the defender, but the attacks have failed. I have all the tech, army size and ally info, but still every once in a while one or two attacks don't get through. I know luck can affect it, to what degree though?

go 10% over and you'll succeed. it's known as the mehul factor

even at 10% over I think 1/100 will fail.

defender might have few % of def. bonus and then there's pang-factor (same as mehul-factor) and randomness which makes attacks bounce even when oversending.

same thing happens to me, more often then normal...so i doubt it's the luck bonus cuz everyone cannot just get the luck bonus and wait for me to attack them!!!!!! LMAO it's been quite a mystery...i've pretty much just given up on attacks, cuz no matter how much i stock pile....I LOOSE more often than gain! i must be seriously screwing something up...so i wanna know too! can someone pls explain the mehul and pang factors??

mehul and pang factors are that if your forces you are sending are too close for break then risk that you bounce is very high so usually attackers add ~10% to break and then send forces.

Ya imagine a 1 million strength army trying to invade a 999,999 strength army. Is +1 strength Really going to Overwhelm the opponent? I think is the rationale behind it.

it can overwhelm or it can't, its random factor.

if you did your calculation correctly and sends 10% more than the required, you should break all the time. I haven't experienced any failure when I do that.

weapons tech and their allies also need to be calculated into the break.

--- allies can double what you see in the spy op...

too much effort to research all that, go 30% over and you cant go wrong.

if break is 20m jets then 200% is "quite" alot even with off allies.

don't forget the 'defensive bonus' bit, i've had a bounce or two forgetting to include that.

2-3% def. bonus doesn't add that much to break while 5%+ adds and if just grabbing that 5%+ def bonus country not retalling then maybe better to find other target.
