I'm very new to the game and was wondering if anyone could please tell me the guidelines or a link to how a farmer strat works? thanks

basically you get land 1 way or other (grab it or explore) and build it as farms and sell bushels on public market to be able to build more and buy techs (mostly agricultural).
Patience: Yep, I'm with ELK and Marshal.

You can also sell your food on the private market in a pinch (not recommended for Theocracy Farmers).
