What are the worst strats you've seen other than rainbow? I've actually seen two players in Express playing Republic Farmers this set which seems pretty bad. I've also seen Republic Indies :(

rep farmer isn't bad at all due to the rep's explore bonus..

rep indy doesn't make sense though :p

Agree with diez here..although i would even go as far as to say rep/farmer is a GOOD strat..dunno how good in express tho.

i've seen theo cashers at old game on alliance-server.

currently theo farmer would be bad.

rep techer is somewhere between bad and good.

Theo cashers do quite well in Express. D and R cashers will rock them in games long enough to max tech.

All-X republic tech seems like it could be decent in Express but otherwise I don't know why you'd want to do it. The exploration bonus is useless if you're LGing and the PCI boost is nothing compared to the H and D bonuses. Add in the increased tendency of Rs to get grabbed and it seems like a horrible idea.

I know of people running H indy starts--seems like a bad idea compared to a cash start but maybe I don't know WTF

I got several top 100 finishes in the old game with rep-farmers.

Dict MB reseller would suxor though.

rep farmer can be pretty darn good;

commy oiler would be pretty bad yea....

heh... dict MB reseller woudl be bad.... Commie resellers would also get properly pwned by taxes

Heh yeah, Omega's had several top 10's in alliance with rep farmers. Probably weaker in express I guess though.

commie mbr wouldn't work, it just couldn't buy out its priv. with money it gets from public.

any oiler is pretty much bad strat since usually most of set oil is low and its peak lasts only week or 2.

rep farmer should be good even at express.

no in alliance server. Gaining land is all that is important early and tyr can under the circumstances in alliance server(need no D to protect land, farming untaggeds req's very few jets,etc.) gain land faster than any gov't. That makes tyr/anything viable in alliance. YOu just switch gov'ts to one in which your strat is actually productive at a certain point...

Am I reading this wrong, or are people REALLY sitting here defending a tyr/casher strat??? Really?

You show me someone running a tyr/casher, and I'll show you someone who has absolutely not the foggiest clue of how gov't bonuses affect their strat.

And for the record, yes, saying tyr/casher = RUNNING a tyr/casher....not building up to it, not converting later, not switching to tyr for hitting.....a straight up TYR/CASHER....although even with those options, it's still a terrible build.
