shoot. now, i can't even convert all my buildings to military bases, because of the corruption. my turns are essentially over. i might as well destock right now

I'm jealous. a few days back I sold 175M for 38 to start my destock. I knew that was a bad decision a day after I did it. You should start destocking now...you'll need all the time you can get unless you have oil...and if you have too much oil you should probably sell your oversupply of oil and destock now either way.

i have around 11 billion dollars loaded up. i am thinking of using 100 turns to convert all my research labs to military bases. this will be around 780 million dollars of corruption. so it will cost me around 1.1 billion dollars (if i add the construction costs) to convert to 95% military bases (i won't take down my construction sites). is this a good idea? does the additional savings on the private market units due to converting to military bases... is this worth it?

You are close to figuring it out yourself but you need to figure out your NW to cash conversion rate if you don't convert to MB and then if you do. You also need to figure out if you have enough time to destock now or if you are going to need to use oil or public market.

i will convert to military bases

i am currently democracy, and wiki says that it's 4 million nw per billion of cash (without mbs)
if i convert to mbs and remain a democracy, wiki says it's 5.2 million nw per billion cash

11 billion cash x (4 million NW/1 billion cash) = 44 million NW
10 billion cash x (5.2 million NW/1 billion cash) = 52 million NW

i have 12 million oil barrels and about 400 ticks remaining to load up on private market units after i deplete it initially. i think i have enough private market units to use up 10 billion cash

You can also use a logout for the full 160 turns before you buyout your private. Private market units generate at:

Troops=(Starting Private troops×(0.985^Turns you are logged out)+(3×Land×Turns you are logged out)

For turrets and jets the 3 in that formula becomes 2.5 and for tanks it is 1. A 40 hour logout is particularly effective on Team because the max Turns of 160 is higher than other servers. You can bump your private market to around 2.35x it's normal size that way on this server.

i made a mistake. i still have 16 mil bushels. i forgot to sell them on the private market before i converted to mbs. now these bushels are worth 26 dollars instead of 36 before the military bases. oh well, i will sell them on the public market
