I've learned when I spy on a country to factor in how good a player it looks like... how many turns they have... just cuz you can break them doesn't always mean it's a good idea. I still get smacked once in awhile but nothing like that, wow.

Herb, i played a theo techer.

I agree bild - i got retaliated twice on grabs that got me 200 acres each with me losing 1k & 1.5k acres -the last one during my stock phase which I had 2.5b on hand and a bunch of cheap bushels I somehow managed to buy (I think it was 13m bushels at 38)

Probably, he hit Rob for 200 and lost 1200, hit the cheat for 200 lost 1400, hit the devil for 200 lost 1500, hit the freak for 100 and lost 1600. He was top 10 in land grabbed and land lost.

ahhh.. fluffty... so many others didnt finish as well.. some due to the greed of the farmer... we subsidize and we listen to them whine, its too hot, its too cold, its too dry, its too wet... and when they get the chance... they totally shaft us. 100 dolla dolla food... well no more, i say. if i see food hit 50+ all im going to LG is farmers!! watch your backs!!

It happened last set to me too, my new plan is to sit n wait... im going to bank turns and make some big retals... its kinda stupid when you do spy op it doesnt show proper turns.. because this retal trap is becoming some what of a strategy...

Nah i wasn't pissed. Its part of the game - you cant expect to be grabbing all set without being hit back (although this guy did it purely to get back at me even as it was counterproductive for his country)

And plus, I wasn't gonna break any records anyway so no biggie

thats true Rob... but when someone retals me 1000A for a 200A LG there is a part of me that knows its part of the game and he played it better. another small part wants to turn him into a dust bowl. human nature.

Retalers like that often didn't "play it better" Jackelope... they often, like Apophis here, do it at the detriment of their own set, sacrificing netting to instead go for petty revenge.

I know Jackelope.. many people wanted to retal me... thats why I was scared and played constantly to stay in top with alot of defence.

Blid I often also choose the petty revenge :P
Last set I retaled Azn and broke his 14m turrets. I find a nice retal almost as nice as a nice end nw.. and since a new set starts in like 5 days I play diffrent styles every set.. one set I go for high nw, next I try a new strat etc.. But usualy I make sure I always retals.
