So I've been playing for the past two weeks and I noticed that a bunch of the alliance tags are the same names that were active when I played Earth 2025 20+ years ago. Which alliance has the most active players from the early days of Earth 2025, if any still do?

I was wondering about that because it's been so long. Even somebody who was here since 2010 would be way after I quit lol. I think I played 1998-2003.

I started in 99 too when I was 12. I was in ccsgn which changed to un4given to evolution, you?

Wow I remember un4given. I should mention I went by the name MAZ back in the day. Somebody else has taken that name here so I couldn't use it.

I started in TALON. I played maybe two sets there and then broke away with a guy named Arka to form Veni Vidi Vici (vVv), which merged with GiM to form Phoenix. Phoenix eventually merged with CNA to form Divine Justice where I played until I dropped off. I read somewhere that DJ merged with somebody to form VieNNa a while after I left. I have not kept in contact with anyone. I was active on Alliance Talk 20 years ago, when ARROW had 300+ countries and MD, MONSTERS, Omega, Genesis, etc basically held the whole top 10. I played one set in RAGE but I think I was mostly spying on them and trying to learn stuff to bring back to DJ.

I spent a lot of time trying to get pacts for DJ so I was somewhat in contact with FAs and Presidents of the big alliances but I don't remember many of them.

Tmac recruited me to CCSGN back in the day.

I think they merged with Unknown Soldiers to become Un4given.
Then Evolution came about somewhere.

Yeah I would imagine most tags are mostly comprised of old vets. Warring still happens pretty well every set, the tags have less members, but there's enough of them that some tags can usually still net if they choose to stay out of it.

I started in '99 when I was 9 years old hah, mostly in FFA, then started Alliance when MPE (Mad Phoenix Empire) moved to 1a... I forget what year that would have been. Lasted there a couple sets then joined Omega.

I was 14 or 15 when I started. And now I'm 38 and my oldest kid is 13. I started playing Team Fortress Classic during COVID too, after a 18 year hiatus. Maybe revisiting old video games is my midlife crisis :)

I would say LaF but ::looks around:: I don't see them around here. They must be taking summer vacation early this year.

SoL and Elders both have a decent number of pre-2k players. Pretty much everybody playing is a longtime vet.

I'll be 52 next month. I first started at the end of the winter reset in January 1998. Ended up in ICN, over the course of the years, I next joined Netters Anonymous. Spent some time in SOF. Played FFA in LaE. Team I got with my boys and we created Elders. Left the game thinking I would never play again. But as 2025 is very near, I let my brotha Link drag me back in this set. Much like riding a bike it seems I didn't forget as much as I thought I would.

I remember warring with RAGE. And I think I remember ARROW v SoF too. It's really sad that the old AT archive is gone. Pretty much all of alliance history was written up over there.

I started in the second week i believe it was in october 1996 and played until it was sold to Omac then hung around for a couple more years after QZ and Pang aquired it then retired for health reasons and came back about 4 or 5 yrs ago so earth vets everywhere you look

1998 there were 10, 20, 30k players? or tons of bots? who knows but clans late 90s did have hundreds of members. was a very different time for this game thats for sure

welcome back, i'm newly reacquainting myself with whats going on here as well, haven't played much since 2010-2012 or so I can't even remember.

Started at ~15 in 98 shortly after the change from solaria to, I think, eesite and never needed to borrow a plat email for whatever tag I wanted to get to know in limited. Swear it wasn't a commitment issue, just ended up with friends hanging out in public IRC channels and wanted to play with them here and there. #NeoFederation was the best
