I figured I'd ask, but is it taken for granted that the majority of the remainder of people that play in Alliance do so mainly for their clan that they have been with for quite some time?

Not posting on AT as much because Maki/Steeps gave back some of my forums on GHQ. RIP my decade long blog, my blog even had replies from people who are no longer with us :(.

The reverse of the question is, is there only a certain type of player that remains.

With each clan developing its own subculture, then each clan would retain slightly different types of players.

An alliance only effect.

I play because I feel like running the numbers and seeing how high a NW I can get. I don't really have a home to speak of these days, I just wander around between alliances.

I never played Earth because of the game, it's always been about the community. When I was in IX I was fascinated with running an alliance and having teams properly organized, so for me, Internal Affairs was a larger part of the enjoyment of the game than the game itself... But yeah now I play for Omega since they're the last alliance I was in before I left Earth, and I like the community there, plus since there's no more Gamerstown it's the next best site for an alliance.

I just like the nostalgia. Granted, I haven't played for nearly as long as some people, but when I started, text-based games were still pretty popular, and all that touchy feely crap about being a teenager and god and the bible and stuff.

I think I've only completed a half dozen non-war resets the entire time I've been playing the game - it's always been about the community for me.

Yheti: The SoF site is pretty much the same as Omega's but with more toys ; p

Both sites are little spooky though, as they were built for far larger numbers than those who inhabit them now.

I was going to say that I didn't remember the SoF site having more toys before remembering that it's been like 9 years since my brief reset in SoF.

The only problem with the Omega site toys is that most don't work with EE.

I am on kind of the same page as Devestation, I wander from place to place when I feel like playing Alliance, as I have grown attached to Free For All over the last decade. However, whatever alliance I join, I almost always stick around for the community.

I play for the clan and the game. I played with rogue for so long, even after it died and many failed attempts to keep it around, that probably justifies playing for your clan.
As for imag, in the beginning I played to stay in the game to be honest.
Now I can honestly say I do play for imag. I know the rest of you are imag haters, but I love that place and the players. And yeah I can say I like soviet, as for xeno though......
