The formula would be kind of ugly. Just aim for 81.69% or better mil tech:

29 / 35.5 = 0.81690

You need to have almost maxed tech. I think its 36 when you get to 81.69%.

It takes just shy of 40 points per acre to get it.

thank you rockman thats what i was getting at. i know the percentage it needs to be. im trying to figure out how much it will take based on my acreage to see if its worth buying up that high to help clear 36's during destock.

You should also account for 20 acres gained per day when buying your tech.

why not just drop the 20 acres?

You can, but more acres does mean a slightly faster destock from PM.

It is amusing how that whenever both LaF and EVO are netting, other alliances have to scramble to do this.

Food clearing is just one of the multiple things alliances like us do for the server that everyone takes for granted :P

perhaps you guys should consider making the food automatically clear if it is sold at or below a given price, and remove our need to clear food at all.

This of course would be a change that adjusts mechanics to reflect strategy, instead of vice versa (where ideologically changes should be what is driving strategy), but given the tendancy you guys have to let strategy drive game mechanics instead... this should be on your list :P

With the SOs set out by demos at the end of the set, it basically is set that way anyways H4 (if the player is willing to sell it at 35 or less).

yes but why not illeviate the need to do this all together?
Obviously isn't isn't as big of an issue as it was under e2025, where there was a 2B cap on PM replentishment, and thus multiple people were required to clear food. It is still a role that could easily be removed, allowing people to focus their efforts on other productive roles for thier alliance.

I think chances are that LaF bonds would be deemed by most to be less risky than PDM bonds at the moment :P

its cute that you pretend to do it for the good of the server. fact is you do it for personal gain, anything more is just a bonus.

No, we actually do it to insure that peoples bushels get cleared (our own included).

We debated trying to do targetted clearing (aka maximize clearing our own bushels and minimizing clearing of others through strategic placements of bushels) but in the end we decided not to persue that strategy. Thus we maintained the position of doing it for the server as a whole.
This was also back when there was no real profit in it, since it was very rare for people to sell below the floor.

As far as I know Evo operates the same way (doesn't try to just target thier own bushels). So... why is it so hard to admit that we provide a nice service for the server? :P

Because, the reason for clearing food for the whole server, is usually to ensure a military buyout occurs soon after as there will be a bunch of countries with 30b cash on hand on the last day, and nothing to buy on the market. (PS. this doesn't occur every reset.)

Then the resellers earn big. This is obviously good only if you know your entire alliance has already sold all their food.

I don't deny that we do plenty of things that people dont' like, and god knows nobody else has problems pointing them out. My point was about the bias slant in that nobody every seems to want to recognize POSITIVE things some alliances do :P
