It's possible to win, yes, with the right market, any strat can win, but I'm going strictly by the rep/cash records we have currently vis a vis Viva and JJ's records. They both play the most rep casher and thus set the bar. If they cannot do it legit, I think it is safe to say, they have probably figured out that it is almost impossible to do it clean.

well i dont have a landfarm so im more legit. tech leeches thru manipulation is not suspect. you are using gameplay to deceive, which is skill. offense alliances are mostly mutually beneficial.

i havent had a tech leech in about 4 resets however, since i dont have the time these days to play techer (which requires more time to capitalize on market prices fully).

and i sure as heck dont need a landfarm since i have obv no problem getting land. always the first to my land goal.

I remember he always seemed to come in 2nd place set after set then he won getting into the 30 mill club. Didn't do too well the set after that and then was caught cheating. He stopped using Vivaluation that set and went underground, crossing over to the dark side IMO. His gameplay was never the same after that.

The difference between Viva and JJ and probably why he gets cut some slack is that he doesn't come on here threatening to kill you, your dog, and you cat, LMFAO!

IDK how people can get 30+ mil with all explore. When I do my calcs, even with everything goes as planned, mid to high 20s is achievable but not 30s unless there's some "market" play.

I think there was some alliance activity and he got FA'd - that was back when FA was allowed

well to correct Xin slightly, this game started before 1998, cuz I remember playing it in 1997. Prior to that, there was a beta version called BRE. That was in 1995 or 96 at least.

BRE wasn't a beta version, it was an earlier game by Mehul for Bulletin Board Systems probably before HTTP existed. It existed for years and had dozens of updates. BRE = Barren Realms Elite -> Earth. FE = Falcon's Eye -> Utopia.

Once the modern internet started becoming more mainstream he made a new game, Earth, based on that game. BRE has basically the same units (troop, jet, turret, tank), it has SDI, nukes, chems, spy ops, etc., but it's a pretty different game. You are on the same "planet" as everyone else that plays from the same BBS as you. There's no public market so there's basically a "best" strategy that's the same every time although game settings can vary it slightly.

I just started playing a round of BRE btw, anyone interested in joining me?
