Old Earther looking for an alliance he can call home.

I haven't played in any alliance server since around 2003. Started playing primary in late '99. I played the best rainbow in primary at the time. (OK maybe thats just my opinion) Got recruited by some lame "clan" and started playing alliance. In the first set someone from this lame alliance ticked off someone in LCN. They kicked our arses good and basically wiped out our alliance. But they took pity on me because I was one of the few who not only fought back but actually survived a couple of kill runs. ... got lucky . They put me in an alliance called ETU (Earth Training University) A joint effort by LCN, Mudders and I think a couple of others. There I learned how to play the different strategies. Got moved into LCN and played with them for a couple of years. Took about a year away from Earth. Came back and started playing Tourney. Got recruited by the Elites (a mostly Malaysian Alliance then) and played with them for a year or so. Took another break from Earth for a few years. Came back & played Tourney for the last 3 years. Been playing express here at Empires. Now I'm thinking of joining an alliance again.
Way back when I did play alliance I usually finished in the top 5% of the server. (unless we had a war) In tourney I usually finished in the top 25 (unless I got suicided on). Had 1 top 5 finish and became "immortalized" in the champions list. (the last set of tourney @ Omac ) Here, in express I've had 9 top 10 finishes out of 14 sets played . (haven't won .... yet)

crazyserb, yes I enjoy having a high NW finish but sometimes warring can be just a fun. I know I'll never forget the thrill of my first kill. When it comes time to fight, well ... ya just gotta have fun with it. So don't count me out just because you're a war alliance.

Another war alliance is the Death Knights, we pretend to net from time to time, but when it comes right down to it, we just like to see dead countries!

I remember a Thumper who was in LCN way back when.
I may have put an LCN after my name back then ... but I have used Trippster as my handle ever since I first went online.

So far Forgotten is winning at best recruitment statement .... but then FFWN is a close second ... and there is that legacy thing with LCN.

Why not join LaF?

LaF is the best netgaining alliance. There isn't really anything to debate. They completely dominate, hands down, and if that's what you want, that is where you should play.

If you want to experience the game for what it's meant to be - a game - something where you strive to be as successful as possible, and you do achieve success, but at the end of the day your goal is still to enjoy yourself and have fun, join LCN.

We've had a lot of old players rejoin recently--it's been good times in LCN, especially with a nice variety of netting and warring (and without getting lost in the masses).

I edit posts like I eat cereal, uh, I have no idea why I eat cereal.

Hey, we have plenty of fun in LaF, don't paint us like that =p



But honestly, if you still have friends in LCN, it's probably for the best of the game itself. We need more members everywhere, for the long term success of this game. If you pick LCN because your friends are still there, great. If you pick LaF because you would like to join a group that is dedicated to finishing the best we can, and defend our rights to netgain, that's great too.


I probably would weight the long term success of this game over winning a recruitment.



Plus, you join LCN, more land for me to grab.

Mmm to be honest, Collaboration is where its at.

Get a fresh start with a fresh alliance. (Although, we're technically SancTuarY - and like the 3rd/4th biggest on the server).

We net well, we war well and we're fond of both ;p

ICN has way more chicks then the LaF snake pit. We have a pretty good mix of war and netting. Not too many hardcore netters for you to get lost among - but enough to give you some in house competition and some attention from leadership.

If not ICN, then LCN is a pretty stable house with good people.

I heard one time a man joined LCN and impregnated 65 women (immaculately) across the globe. It is said that it was due to the raw energy of LCN combined with the raw energy of this individual.

Three months later, Ravi was born and become our savior. Why three you ask? Because he is three times quicker at growing in women's wombs than humans.

He now currently sometimes kind of plays in LCN, when he isn't doing miracles. Though his miracles are less impressive then the original savior. He is known to make liquid from aluminum cans disappear in a matter of minutes.

So ask yourself, trippadoodle. Do you want to see Ravi post once a week in the nude or join the best netting alliance in the game?!

P.S: LCN is one of the most active alliances I have ever played in. Which could be saying a lot if you knew the alliances I have played in or how long I have played this soul sucking game.

Well first off I'd like to thank everyone who responded. It's nice to know that I have choices.

I think I'm going to go with LCN. There is probably no one there who would remember me from way back then but .... they are the ones who taught me to play .... and they seem to be welcoming me back.

It would be more fun to find these old threads and years later post something like "and they joined XYZ and here is what happened..."

Might give some newer folks perspective...

Preferably not just the "good ones" though. Would be great to see the "they joined XYZ and two sets later suicided and got the whole clan into a war" or "they joined XYZ and have now played for 3 years and still suck". ;)
