do not undercut the price. if you see a lot of a few thousand bus and res at, say, 2500 ... don't panic and put yours up at 2400. that is panic selling and causes early crashes.

the 2500 lot will sell, trust me. don't be an idiot. sell at the same (OR EVEN HIGHER) price. it's basic economic sense.
there is demand for this stuff now.
the only people that benefit from bonehead moves like this are EVERYONE OTHER THAN TECHERS.

the tech will ONLY sell if a certain condition is met:
the precise condition i am pushing for - all techers price tech = or greater to the current market price.

pretty simple.
if people continue to undercut, market will crash and not sell.

it hopefully corrects itself over a long set, but here in express believe it or not undercutting is enough to change tech prices a good 500-800 $ for the heart of the set on day 2 and 3.

I think zero is kind of right. If everyone is trying to undercut one another, but the quantity of tech is too low to sustain that low price point, the tech will get bought out and the market will be empty, after which you should see a correction. Even if the rest of the techers are too stupid to price higher, you can price higher yourself and your tech should come up on the market as theirs gets bought out. Meanwhile, if you all try to form a cartel and sell only over $3000, but there's too much supply, some of it will never sell.

That said, I don't really think the market always works according to theory... I swear a perfectly healthy market at $2800 can be sabotaged completely by one person doing a giant tech dump at, say, $2200. Other techers need their tech to sell and see the high quantity at $2200 and undercut it and the next thing you know there's a price spiral of people undercutting one another despite the fact that this tech should eventually get all bought up. This can last days in Primary or half a day or something on Express. I think a rich demo can go a long way to policing and correcting this kind of thing...

haha actually NOW I get it. :D will try techer next set and check out how that market works. I usually play farmer, so I tend to see only 'minor' flucuations on the market.

There's probably a bit of inelasticity in there as well, as in people need tech and even if it's $3000 they still need tech and will buy it. So in that way undercutting doesn't always make sense. But even if they still need tech, they won't be able to buy as much... it's not as inelastic as food for example... cashers will still max their populations out whether or not food is expensive...

it's all good but the truth of the matter is the express server is too short and tech demand drops drastically by day 3.5 and undercutting definitely hurts tech prices (if even a bit). it never helps it, we'll put it that way

haha vic, bus/res tech has avg'd 2300 for the last 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours. check eestats. that doesnt sound like "undercutting" to me, it sounds like you logging in at a funny time when tech was sold out for a second. that said maybe the price should go up cuz indy tech has been sold out the whole time
