The asking price and sale price of oil has suddenly jumped to $50000 per barrel-HOWEVER it won't allow anybody to place barrels of oil for sale. not at THAT price-and not at ANY price. What's going on-please help?

What happens when you try to sell the oil?

It kept not placing them for sale. FINALLY I undercut the $50,000 price by a SUBSTANTIAL amount and it allowed me to place them for sale. Kinda stinks-I would have LOVED to get the $50,000 for it.

Oh, that's why. There's a maximum price for goods and you were selling for over the maximum price. Nobody might buy it anyway, no one will pay that much for oil.

A question still stands.. if nobody can place oil for that high of a price.. how did some get on there for $50k?

izarc suggested standing order at utterly ridiculous price so maybe when no more oil on market it jumped on that price.

@onemansarmy there was not any oil for sale at $50k. The "asking price" was $50k somebody had placed an order for it.

I understand that-but when somebody places an order for $50k what can the seller do? Originally it wasn't letting me sell for anything less...

The code checks for the maximum selling price, which is equal to 3x your private market price.

The code however does not check for the maximum Standing Order price.

If there is a standing order for $50000 oil, any oil that is priced below $50000 will be automatically bought by it, you can still sell your oil at say $999 or whatever maximum the game allows.

What if there is no 'selling price' since there is no oil in your private market? I've seen oil up to $4000/barrel in team. We need to know the limit of selling stuffs.

The maximum $ you can place for standing order is $65536 (2^16).

oil has no upper limit outside those servers its possible to sell oil at priv. just a guess.

thats just the thing. players couldn't sell anywhere near the 50k mark because its well over the max sell price, whereas 4k isn't. *shrug* maybe the bug is that the UI should explain that better.

mmm i did make the UI default to the SO price or something like that if there was no oil... i think... i can put a max price check in there
