This is a picture from the Kenyan Mall attack.. looking at news articles about it I came across this and it caught my eye..

My best guess was the new keltec shotgun (KSG) but it doesn't seem to match..

Any ideas?

Now after looking at it while fully awake it appears to be a bullpup of some sort?

Actually on second thought, I don't think that's right either. The ejection port looks too far forward for that

although they used SCARs, that pic that Trife posted is not a SCAR, anyone who looks at the action can see that. i dont know what it actually is, ill have to do some research, but it is no SCAR, the ejection port is the biggest tell.

the size of the ejection port and muzzle break does make it look like a shotgun, i think Trife was on the right track, but it doesn't look like a KSG or a UTS. also, the absence of an obvious magazine confuses me, and i dont see a tube system either. im confused.

mag in the grip, rails in the right place, similar muzzle break and size...

it's a modified combat SCAR. kenyan military is only contracted for
Heckler & Koch G3 and FN SCAR and the special forces there use only the SCAR.

that one in the photo is heavily modified, but it's from FNH.

dude, the action, mag well, and gas system is completely different from a SCAR. if you are going to discount the MP7 for the same reasons, you need to discount the SCAR too.

if it is a SCAR, where is the mag well? and why is the ejection port in the wrong place and too large?

it may not be a MP7, but it sure as fluff isnt a SCAR.

ford all i know is it isn't an mp7 and the man in photo is kenyan special ops and kenyan special ops really only uses FN SCARs.

i can agree that it is possibly something else.
but honestly, after a very close examination, i think it is some sort of SCAR.

further to this, they were already photographed with confirmed FN SCAR 17s so it is very likely they photo above is combat barrel scar modded.

as for the ejection port, i'm seeing it in the same place as it should be on any fn scar combat barrel. same with the mag bro.

and finally, a contact in the state dept said it should be on all accounts an FN SCAR.
could be wrong but seems that way. what photo of SCARs are you looking at?

there is no mag in trife's pic, unless it is in the grip, and it isnt in the grip in a SCAR. judging from the location of the ejection port, and the grip, that is the only location the mag COULD be. the mag well is the easiest way to say that is in no way a SCAR, are you blind?

even if that gun takes a mag in front of the trigger assembly, and that person doesnt have one inserted, the well is far too small to be chambered in either NATO 5.56 or 7.62 cartridge, the only 2 cartridges the SCAR is chambered in.

the only reason i said MP7, is it is the only modern SMG that i know of with the mag in the grip, because it uses a small round, the high velocity 4.6 cartridge.

dude, i cant tell if you are trolling or not, but it is not a SCAR. period. if you cant see that, by the design, then you are not as smart as i though you were.

there is no magazine, or mag well
the ejection port is directly above the rear grip
the barrel isnt long enough for any true rifle cartridge, compact or not
there is no way that is a 5.56 or 7.62 weapon.

no way in 1000 years is that a SCAR. it might not be anything i posted, but dude. not. a. SCAR. lol

look at EVERY SINGLE SCAR pic you have posted. DIRECTLY infront of the trigger group, there is a mag well, and a magazine, a rather wide one beause of the cartridge size.

now, go look at Trife's pic. what is directly infront of the trigger group? nothing. no mag well, no mag, nothing.

that isnt something that changed when you make a gun "compact" or "tactical" that is the action of the gun. the very thing that makes it what it is.

surely you can understand this. if you cant you are either stupid, or trolling.

i looked at the G36, but once again, mag location. the mag is in the grip, that narrows it down to pretty much SMGs, like the MP7, MP9, UZI, and the sorts
