haha yeah, I should have finished a lot higher. two late retals (although NX was nice) and people spending hundreds of turns bombing my banks :/.

I was on track to have my best finish and hit t10 for the first time. 4 huge retals in a 2 hour window set me back pretty bad. 5k acres and 280 mil cash bye bye. About 50k tech too

keep at it... sounds like you have found what works for you and I am sure you can top ten soon :) Attacking in express is always risky more so though than most servers, all jetters, or even people who looked to have no time but suddenly found some to play 400 turns in no time and they did it right. lol

I did not sell any really expensive oil nor did I get any really cheap food. However, a lot of my jets/turrets did sell @ 194 at end of set.

I wasn't intending on winning since I was gone most of the weekend (only made 21 hits all set). It was just a very good commie set with high military all set.

I don't think i've been back long enough to know who runs what country.. I get burned on retals and it could have been a LOT worse for me.. Deezy, Celphi, and Hammer continue to be helpful and encouraging, I appreciate it!

I think I will try all explore (as much as it pains me to say) and try to observe who plays what.. try to learn who is safe to grab and who isn't before teching again.

It is a country that is safe/less dangerous to hit not a person.

In fact, with an equal choice of target countries, go for the country of the player who presents the greater threat to the top spot.

I don't completely agree here Furious. The way you guess whether an unknown country is dangerous is by looking at the spyop. The ingame history of the country is a clue too. But if you know who owns a country you can guess on how much will to retal they have because they have a historical style of playing.

I don't understand the second part of your post. It doesn't seem to make sense unless you are talking about the ally of the player who is likely to be in the top spot. Like Russian Roulette used to help Ebert.

Just of the top of my head i can think of myself, celphie and ebert who are more than likely gonna retal but also prone to do crazy stuff as retals if any given set is percieved as already messed up. I retal with double triple and quadruple taps quite a bit not only in the same set but for multiple sets after ask flufftyassman he late retalled me 3 or 4 sets back n i just finally stopped harassing him last set lol def certain players who are dangerous like rabid dog

I didn't play last set., that's why military was high.

What I mean by choosing the player who represents the greater threat to the top spot is that if my country will gain an equal benefit by hitting either of two techers at some point and I know one of the countries is being played by ebert I will go for his country because he is a major rival for highest networth in the set and hitting his country sets him back a bit.

As for knowing who will retal, well yes, in an ideal set you slip along under everybody's radar and never get grabbed or retaliated. But in that case you are playing in Tourney B not in Express.
