I think it's pretty cool since it changed some market dynamics over the set. Might be unbalanced, but just about everything that shakes things up while letting everyone do it is a plus to me because it keeps things interesting.

depends how much military and weap tech defending player has so that 100m might not be far from truth.

enshula: some did since they weren't 1 ss/ps-attacks kills but still many (last set 5) were under 10 acres.

some people might have dropped extra land after jumping too

most seemed to drop the land in 2 stages or did a rather small jump before dropping from what I saw

I would let this go a couple more sets before any balancing is done. Oil is still in the process of balancing out with the drastic increase of need for it.

also when they drop their land their spal will jump up into the thousands so getting intel for an accurate hit will be very hard, you won't know allies units for defense as well if you can't even get a basic op ;)

only way is store up 10's of millions of jets till end of set and lots of oil then just hit at random and hope.

and balancing does need to be done, more units generated per oil would make it useful, if oil sits above 200+ most of set and food isn't cheap then a normal theo with land mass destock can come up the same as well.

Just adjust the oil to pm to be a factor of land. Rather than a flat number. Issue resolved.

Sure it'd be a low numer per acre to be what it is now, but find an average land goal of most netters and make the favtor become roughly what it is now at that land goal.

Makes an already valuable netting resource that much more important, and brings a new element to the decision process of buying more tech for higher land so you can buy less (or more?) Oil later to destock.

It would also adjust oil inflation, as need would still be higher but potentially lower or higher based on the land of the country destocking. Give it a few sets of adjusting a single variable and you'll probably balance that aspect alot faster too.

i like the change in that its actually made a real oiler a proper strategy... all its done is change destocking... SS showed us last set that techers aren't a moot strat (you just have to be able to play the market properly) like you always had too. All in all i think the change has been a great one... i for one picked up on the idea of the low acre tmbr conversion almost instantly when the change occurred... i just wanted someone else to do the math for me to prove it.... luckily for me i had Enshula for that one :P

I had very crudely worked out straight away that as a fascist farmer/oiler without dropping land u could increase ur ending nw a few percent without and land dropping which made me want to explore the other option
