I'm going to be vacationing on Maui this winter, and would like to do some fishing while I'm there. Been trying to look up info on kayak fishing, but not coming up with much useful. Got a couple books en route about shore fishing, but I'd really like to get out on the water as well. I really am not much into doing the charter thing though.. I prefer to fish on my own or with people I know. I don't like to be on a schedule when I'm fishing.

Some of the info I'm looking for:

Does anybody on Maui (preferably near Kihei) rent fishing kayaks? It wouldn't necessarily have to be near Kihei, but the less driving I have to do, the better.. And I never want to do the drive to Hana ever again :)

Where/how would one fish for and/or gather live bait?

Where would be the best spots to hit once bait is obtained?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
