Also why does your being female give you a better idea as to whether it is sexist or not? Are you suggesting that men, as a gender, are inferior or at the very least less capable of understanding the plight of a woman? Is this itself not sexist? What if the surgeon is the mother?

as for your second statement there, you are reading way more into my response than i really intended by it, but then i should remember that a lot of posters have lost their sense of humor on these boards
men and women may have different interpretations/opinions of what is or is not sexist *smh*
