As for not retaling Max gains, that really annoys me, it makes people grab more and others suffer for it.

Both me and Primeval believe in the old ways of wargaining off other clans, even though I don't do it anymore I go with the flow of the server and rape bots all day long (although I'm smart enough to wear condoms on my jets, dunno who these bots have been with)

Eitherway... everyone needs to take a chill pill. There is no point in landgrabbing other clans in FFA unless you just watn to stir the pot. It's obvious.

I have no issue being grabbed. A one man clan grabbed one of my farms earlier and my poorlynn executed retal flopped. No issue.

I have nothing against net gaining and grabs. But I have taken my share of lumps and beat downs due to my failure to observe server norms.

I would not have reacted to a standard grab either. As I have run my mouth plenty about keeping appropriate defense. This crossed my red lines.

1) I fully support the occasional player to player interaction in this game. I use the bots and I also self farm. But if the option is available for one of my players to make a grab on an incredibly fat and highly undefended player (less than 1mil def points by my guess) then I allow my players to do that. They know the risks, but allowing that freedom has attracted a few players to the tag. This freedom can also be a double-edged sword, though. For instance, smegma knows that he has the right to detag from IMP if that is his choice if he feels wronged. Cross-country retals (which was admitted in the ingame message above) is not cool. Now if smegma decides to hit an ally, regardless of the 72-hour rule, that's an entirely different story. I have offered him an option that I feel is much more "diplomatic", but that remains his choice.

2) Grabbing bots is the easiest way to grow these days. However, I and a few others in our tag, have kept appropriate defense to be landfat but also not be an attractive target to landgrabbers or ankle-biting suicider trash like macdaddy. As a result, humanitarians block me from attacking the bots with similar builds as mine. I am forced to tech, cash, or landtrade amongst my string until the bots get back in my range (and many don't). As you know, landtrading is a more delicate endeavor to avoid set-long DR, avoiding tech pacts amongst my own countries, and maximizing building gains and ghost acres. Occasionally popping a 190k acre country with less than 1mil def points yields the same or better results.

3) Grabbing bots helps us grow but it does not impede the growth of TKO. It is no secret that TKO is the netting powerhouse in FFA - consistently winning TNW. By grabbing TKO instead of bots, we have the option to grow IMP and also take away from our competition if we grab and retal correctly and efficiently. That being said, I don't see the need to throw a hissy over landgrabs between the tag that can be still counted on both lands.


FA and private business like this on the board irks me. At least it gives people something to read, I guess.

I completely agree with Prime, it's a game and IMP is trying to be competitive with other clans, how is this wrong? If you ask me that's the exact reason old and new players run from this game. But I also agree that over grabbing repeatedly also warrants a reaction at some point, there are risks as Prime said. All in all that type of gameplay promotes the life of this server IMO. However that does not mean I support suiciders, but a good healthy war can be fun as well as entertaining for everyone. A good war is also good for the market as well, as it increases the need for goods, which also promotes life in the server as well.

Btw Prime, regarding the 1 mil defense thingy, I had over 2 million tanks in addition to the rest. A tad over 1 mil. (Like 7 mil).

@madnudist don't get me wrong I am all for grabbing and interaction.

But every action has consequences including my actions. I am just trying to help maxipads learn this.

"Shoulda" is just one out of multiple options. We are entitled to different opinions.
