there have always been large alliances, the same as there have always been small alliances trying to survive
nothing has changed in that sense, and numbers are much closer now than they were in the past, when there were alliances ranging from 10 - 400+ members

As Thomas said, Collab contemplated internal land trading soon after ghost acres returned, but came to the conclusion that we were against it.
Anyway, Serpentor cleared the whole situation, so there is no problem, and this thread can be left alone :)

The whole problem is that it may lead to the (re-)removal of ghost acres, which is a good part of the game.
If this is left alone and continues, more people will start doing it, and it will eventually become widespread, as anyone NOT doing it would be at a disadvantage.

Market buyouts and FA'ing top countries ARE against the spirit of the game, and Collaboration has been against those activities as well (atleast since I've been around). And, as per Axa's original post, Collab WILL follow up with action if it continues.

BadFish, this is not about cheating. Noone has called it cheating, because it is not against the games rules. What it is, is something that Collab will not accept, and I'm sure quite a few others probably have the same view.

Edit: What does retalling for another alliance member have to do with anything? It's far from related, and has been a widely accepted practice for a long time. Internal land trading has not.

The issue is that it is completely against the spirit of the game. Ofcourse there is a cost to land trading, but, unlike exploring, land gained increases as you grow. We cannot allow such a thing to become acceptable; the fact that mass exploring is so viable is depressing enough as it is, internal land trading on a wide scale would make the game horribly boring and tedious.

It's probably, at least partly, caused by the low population on the server, meaning land is scarce and people will do anything to grow.

List of events:
1) Collab FS's SOL as retaliation for SOL's end of set FS on Collab in the previous set. Collab is a few members short of SOL's numbers, but they have the FS.
2) TIE joins in on SOL's side. SOF (who were pacted with Collab) has a large percentage of members break off into a new tag to also join in on SOL's side.
3) Collab is largely outnumbered, and being that a gangbang has been called in, Collab returns the favor and calls in allies.
