lemming is an extremely valid tactic and is used very often on the FFA server. a lemming attack actually destroys more military than a successful attack if you send the right ratios.

I'm pretty sure we smashed NA last set even after SOL came in. All they had were 2 really active originals that escaped our repeated attempts to kill them.

I guess mentioning that the last and biggest targets we toke down did not contribute a thing to the war effort (being INC/LCN/imag side), so it would of had time to grow and stock. Which in itself is sad, I would of hoped that every country on the other side would put 100% effort into the war like ( breaking targets in this case).

If I was Imag, I would be annoyed that those I was defending didn't take the war seriously as they themselves did.

people also forgetting the market was sold out, so even if sol wanted to buy up fully there was nothing to buy. I'd rather lemming and kill it over waiting for god knows how long to break it straight

Lemmings cause double losses. In reality 10 lemmings at the start of every kill run saves a lot of oil, jets or troops, and overall expense of carrying the excess military to break at 1/3.

If the point of this thread is about how SoL HAD to lemming, then you should go tell the original poster to fix the topic of thier thread. Because you've said it yourself right there that SoL has had the breaking power since day 1, meaning sol didn't HAVE to lemming, they CHOSE to lemming, because it was the better strategy. However the alternative is that you're wrong when you say that SoL has had the breaking power since day one, and in that case the original poster would be correct in making this thread.

However since you are the original poster, I'm going to go with you're wrong on BOTH points because you've essentially contradicted yourself, and shown how little you really understand.

Soviet: You do not lose extra readiness on failed attacks as long as you send 30%.

Let us pretend I am the SOL breaker and I have 5 million troops at 150% weapons for 7.5 million. The break on the LCN country is 4 million raw.

I can easily speed hit at 2 million raw causing the same losses as breaking at 4 million raw.

I quickly spam 12 hits, breaking the last one. The break is now 2 million raw. I wasted 1-2 seconds additional time on the kill run and spent enough oil to supply 24 million barrels. This is a savings of nearly half the oil compared to me straight breaking. I also saved all my cash by not buying up and I further lowered my expenses by dropping my raw GS break (since there are very few breakers or no breakers left on the imag/LCN/ICN side).

The cost was 12 extra hits at 500 troops raw and the aforementioned 1-2 seconds for my lemmings.

Also, Ford can runs a good warchat. Comparing the leading of an experienced group of war oriented players vs a group of casual netters makes a big difference. Also, as Ford stated, he has run multiple FFA wars at this point which are the to the 6x magnitude of wars on Alliance.
