These changes went live a little early but are pretty much done. The "Earth Empires Portal" page has been changed. Specifically, the "View Old Countries" links have been replaced by a single link at the top, "Countries and Statistics". We also added "All Time Leaderboards" links in the serverboxes.

Players can still view all of their old countries, but we've given them the option to let others see their countries. To do this, players must link their game account to a forum account. In addition, there are privacy options to control what other players see. The privacy options are under "options" in the top left circle and are only available if players already linked their game and forum accounts.

If players allow others to see their countries, then links to their game profile will appear next to old finishes. If players do not allow others to see their countries, these links will not appear and other players will not be able to view their countries when looking at their game profiles. The default option is not to allow other players to view countries.

We've also added leaderboards for all servers and one leaderboard that includes all servers but ffa. We found that adding FFA to the "Overall" leaderboard put too much weight in what players did in FFA. If players allow others to see them on leaderboards, then links to their game profiles will appear on these leaderboards. The default privacy option is to allow this.

Non clan-servers have five or six leaderboards and clan servers have 12 leaderboards. We don't have the full 12 leaderboards for all servers because we don't want to encourage the wrong types of behavior. However, we will remove or add leaderboards as we see fit. For example, if FFA players start killing off random countries just to boost their kill counts, then that leaderboard will be removed.

Eventually, game profile links will appear next to user's names in the forum (assuming that they allow any information to be shared). When a player views his own profile, all information, including current countries, it shown. Other players will see less than what that player can see.

We also added attack and defense success percentages ingame. These stats are based only off SS and PS attacks and only appear once a country has made or received an attack.

If anyone has any suggestions for leaderboards or other comments, feel free to post them here. I had to write this announcement a bit quicker than I would have liked, so let me know if anything doesn't make sense.

for the tournament stats, does it only inlcude game a? I have only played 1 set and it was in game b and it doesn't show any of those stats.

Under the tournament leaderboard it specifically says that it only shows results from game A.

In the interests of acquiring some reflected glory after last weeks's forum template debacle, I've moved the "ignore user" image and link from the forum threads to each user's profile (click on a user to bring up his/her profile, and you'll see the green check or red x next to their name).

You'll notice that I've replaced that image and link to something else entirely.

ah nice thats a bit confusing btw I think when options is for your forum account and when its for your game acct, but maybe I'm dumb. BTW any way to add middle level of privacy, allowing other users to see all my previous countries EXCEPT my country this set?

For that to truly give you privacy you would also need to update overall leaderboards only at the end of each set (ow for example someoen could calculate your NW based on all your previous NWs for sets before this one compared to your overall NW)... Is the overall leaderboard taking into account stuff from the current set btw, I can't figure out easily and I'm lazy:P

confirmed you can only see previous, not the current countries though; you can see YOUR OWN current one though

All i see that MAY be related to country in the 'Options' section is: Allow others to see contact info...is that it?

ANW has a ton of problems. We might eventually do something like "average of your best three".

I'm surprised that ANW of all sets on one server would be so difficult? You have the total NW, and considering you can see your previous countries, couldn't you just have it divided by that? Or were you referencing problems unrelated to the calculation?

It's not difficult to calculate. Rather, it's difficult to see the value in such a measure. If someone creates a country and doesn't play it, should their average really be dragged down so much? Would averaging in warring countries really prove anything? If we want a leaderboard that is more about individual skill instead of just consistency (and getting lucky enough to avoid war on three servers), I think a better measure is averaging the top X finishes of everyone.

I'd support an average of your best 3 (or whatever number you decide) as not everyone is lucky enough to net every set or almost every set. It would measure your best 3 finishes and that would, in my mind, be more accurate to account for non-netgaining sets.

Yeah best 3 averages would be sweet. Maybe best 15 for FFA..

Little problem I think: we don't see all previous countries in the servers previous countries list. I see it for me but not for others even the didn't set the privacy.

You can't see countries that are currently run, just old ones.

how far those go back? based on my alliance deaths its not long, maybe 2 sets.

Err they include all countries from all sets of EE.

then my stats about deaths are off since it shows me 6 deaths and that happened last set mostly.

They are recalculated randomly between between 1 and 2 times a day.
