Hi all

Another big step is wrapping up -- getting the mobile template together.

You can now access the game from http://mobile.earthempires.com or http://m.earthempires.com

These domains are designed be more friendly to mobile devices, with simpler pages and mobile-friendly navigation.

There are TWO menu types for mobile users, which can be set in your preferences.

The default type is a dropdown menu, which has a list of the game's pages in a dropdown box and is made for for easy navigation with 'higher end' phones. If you have JS enabled, selecting a new element will automatically make your mobile browser go to that page.

The other type is text menus, which displays the ingame menus at the top of the page. This is meant more for users with older devices, text browsers, or users who can't use the dropdown.

Also, you mobile users may notice your phones are using a lot less bandwidth while browsing the forums. NukEvil has implemented his own mobile template for the forums, which basically keeps mobile users from having to download those images at the top, replacing them with text hyperlinks instead.

One QA note - is it necessary to show dead countries on the portal page? Also, would it be possible to separate countries by server with a line break or something similar?

Need an option for using the full site or stop auto directing to the mobile site. I like the full site better on my iPhone. Thank you for your efforts.

i tried loggin in on my palm teus i think it was. it said the usual "for leavin people alone for so long you get this many turns" when i clicked it to enter the country it only refreshed that page and wouldnt go to the country main page.

i know that happens to me at work due to no cookies, so i have to force a refresh

i've had numerous reports from ragers that the mobile template is not working on there phones..

in what way, DL?

and kemo, that does sound like cookie problems -- which are sort of beyond our control to a degree :-/

just noticed the new portal page for mobiles. Its nice, streamlined, etc, but i think its missing the info that says when the current round starts/ends. Or do i need to click onto a new page?

Only say this because i play from my phone 90% of the time and never remember those details.

Why is the status bar showing your $, food, and networth gone now? It's a pain when buying goods and running turns if you have to go to main menu to check your food and money before hand every time.

Good job. Just one thing, the bonus link is not available if you don't log to one server. Sometimes I don't want to log to any server (to get the 18hours/6turns bonus) and I want to get the vote/bonus.
