It is with sincere regret that I must share with you that DrGonzo who lead and played in Sons of Liberty for many years has passed away quite suddenly after being diagnosed with cancer.

His daughter asked it be known that 'Please share the word with his crew. That was a wish that he'd shared with me years ago. You were part of a family to him. Please don't worry about talking about him with them. He would want that.' This goes out to SoLers in particular but we are all scattered anymore and he was a legacy. It doesn't feel right just posting it in SoL.

He was an executioner.

He was a SOLer.

He was family.

Thanks for sharing Dalyx. I remember that no matter how he was feeling that he always tried to lift the spirit of everyone else. Doc will be sorely missed.

I did not know DrGonzo but I would like to salute to him for making an impact on the Alliance he loved and for touching the hearts of those he played alongside.

I send my best wishes to his friends, family and the members of SOL. I also wish SOL a good memorial set, one worthy of DrGonzo.

It is not goodbye dear friend, but rather until we meet again. Thank you Doc for everything you have done for SoL. For everything you did and patience you had with me when I went batty. You will be missed incredibly much.

As was true for TTM, Gonz was the first SOLer to really engage me when I started playing the game almost a decade and a half ago. His kindness and support for me as a new player was no small part of why I remained with SOL and only SOL for more than a decade and why even now, playing with a group of peace loving tree huggers, I often itch for that SOL tag by my name.

He made a massive impact on how I see the game, clans within the game and fun& good sport in competition. I will miss him and hope to be like him in how I welcome new players.

Gonzo, i'm at a loss for words.
Like so many others, I grew up with the game and with you.
I've always looked up to you on so many levels.
I will always treasure the memories of our late night chats about life, everything else , nothing and everything in between.(night for me, that would stretch out into the morning).
The best are the first to go.
Until we meet again, I'm proud to have called you my friend.

I wish his loved ones all the best. And as part of the family he gained throughout the years here, DrGonzo will be missed and, more importantly, remembered. The name and the man behind it will be forever in our hearts.

My Friends,
When i came ro this game i was lonely and afraid. I searched for a home and found SOL, then i found my mentor Gonz, DrGonzo. Wise and funny he often reminded me of gandalf or merlin leading young warriors on epic quests of glorious adventure.
He turned strangers into family. He turned a game into a way of life. he took talked to me when i was broke down on the side of the road in the cold on a my first mobile irc app, while i waited on a ride. he was more than just my clanmate, he was my freind.
light the way Gonz we will follow in time

I dont have words to describe how much Gonzo will be missed. Our lives will be that much less without him. In life as in death, he is and always will be loved.
