I haven't decided on my full retal policy yet, but I have decided on this part:
If a country farms his alliancemates and then grabs me, I will retal land:land by hitting any country in their alliance.
If a country is farmed down and then grabs me, I will also retal land:land by hitting any country in that alliance.
I have no problem with alliances self farming, and will even war to support their right to do so. But I will not support your right to make grabs with countries involved in self farming, and I am willing to go to war if I am grabbed by countries involved in self farming. It doesn't matter how long ago the self farming occurred, or how little land changed hands. Once you self farm, neither country deserves the right to make landgrabs against other countries (although retals are still okay).
