FYI Popcorn, The Rosewood countries, were after one of mine that was recruited because of what rosewood was doing to him. at STONES we are going to try and help our members..

I've used laundry soap to clean dishes when I ran out of dish soap but that's as far as I 've gone.. I think I rememeber seeing homer simpson using dish detergent on his clothes and had some big time bubble trouble

its not that you are hitting untags. its that you are grabbing PERIOD for such fluffty returns. you should just explore if that is the returns you are going to get

Paulie: To more fully explain ford's point, in case you're missing it.

You're attacking right out of protection. Grabbing right out of protection for 20-25 acres is a waste of turns, and here's why:

Let's assume you're a non-tyr, because most of the countries everyone suspects are you are dictators or commies. This means even if we round up and say you're getting 30 acres per hit that you're using 2 turns to get 30 acres, so 15 acres per turn.

Up until you reach ~1920 acres, you can explore for 40 acres per turn, which means in the same 2 turns, you could get 80 acres. If you're running a republic, you could get 48 per turn, for 96 acres for the same 2 turns.

Beyond this, since you'd be exploring, you're not potentially pissing off some untagged player by farming them, so you're keeping your risks of being suicided on pretty low, whereas if you farm untaggeds, you certainly can get a lot of land that way (eventually, when they're big enough that you're getting more than 25 acres per hit), but if you farm people, you make it more likely they'll suicide on you.

Think of it this way: If you logged in to your countries and found yourself on the wrong end of the very hits you've been doing and it would piss you off enough to suicide on the people that did that to you, you have zero reason to complain when someone suicides you because you were a fluff to them.

So basically, you're increasing your likelihood of being suicided upon while taking LOWER returns on land.

You can feel free to keep doing this if you want. Major clan people here aren't bothered by it, they're simply pointing out why it's not very bright.

nah. I've got most of mine at 1918 and they're all still at max explore rate. I've also got some non-reps at 1920 that are at max explore rate, but my reps had to go down to 1918.

So it's somewhere in the 1918-1920 range, and seemingly, it's affected by the rep bonus.

but if you continue to do harmful attacks on untags for no good reason then your countries are going to be destroyed. Farming and grabbing is one thing (debatable morally) but unprovoked harmful attacks is nothing but a waste of resources.

So let's be clear about this: Stop it or someone is going to kill your countries.

what makes this really crazy to me is the accepted theory of Self Farming within earth. did self farming catch on as a means of attaining land without taking risk.

You notice how all of those say SS, and none of those say DH, NM, BR, or CM?

Here's some rules for you and your people if you want us to leave you alone, paulie:

1) Don't missile people for no reason.
2) Don't GS, BR or AB people for no reason.
3) Learn to grab so you don't bounce on half your hits -- actually, on second thought, don't. I fully expect I'll be grabbing your countries to test your ability to retal, and I'll be even happier if you bounce on every retal you try to take.
4) Don't use harmful spy ops (anything beyond spy, military spy, market spy, spy on alliances) for no reason.

Farming untaggeds may not be the greatest things either, but at least there's a purpose in what CC is doing. They're gaining land. You're just hurting other countries for no reason without there even being any gain in it for anyone.
