For those who've recently quit S.O.T.A. over this issue, let me get this out there for anyone else who wants to know:

During the last two weeks, my job has made it next to impossible to find time to play this game, I have stated to them and the others who've been elevated into positions to take the slack while my level of activity in my own alliance, and this game has dropped that I didn't know how long this would last, and that I would check in at least every three days to maintain some aspect of activity. The last time I checked in was Friday evening, and things seemed to be copacetic, I check in today to see how things are going and two people jumped ship over my own lack of activity.

The issue here, is that I still don't know how long this is going to last, this could go on until the end of this month. I've had to take on a second job to catch up on my rent, as well as other financial issues that have been in the arrears since at least December. I apologize that I cannot be as active as you or I would like, but some real life issues have arisen and dealt me a sucker punch.

I've learned to deal with the fact that S.O.T.A. might suffer as a result of this, and it's perfectly fine with me. I'd hoped that some of the choices I'd made would have been for the better, but it turns out that just when I believed I'd made a choice for the best, I am proved wrong by the very people I placed my faith in.

So again, until next time. For now, I am going to continue playing regardless of the fact that this set won't be as stellar of a comeback set as I'd hoped. But what can I say, you live and learn.

Wouldnt be so bad if you didnt name someone as Co-Leader who was already partly inactive when you named him as such, or the fact that Purgatori is the FA.

I could have dealt with you being inactive, if i didnt have to take up everyones slack.

Popcom, the issue is *only* two people have quit. There are still myself, Seraph and four others playing... although from what I am seeing even they aren't as active as they could be.

From what I am seeing, the problem is that while I have been able to play my countries every few days and check in, it seems that others have been just as inactive. Considering the 19th is only a week away... this doesn't bode well for S.O.T.A.'s upcoming tenth year in existence.

Anyways, I am out. And with all sarcasm intended, I'll check back in another couple of days to see what other new developments have taken place since I've been gone.

well for a small to mid size clan that is only semi active, thats not to big a deal really.
just make sure you don't have fat, weak countries and u won't get many LGs. and if you mostly all explore or even self farm u wont be making waves with others. should be able to coast the set out netting in relative peace

If someone is complaining about your lack of activity, then that is apparently in your clan. It is a clan issue, take care of it in your clan forums.

We don't care out here. It was quiet for once.

The sad thing is this, paulie. As much of an embarrassment as SOTA's inactivity may be, most people still probably have a far more favorable outlook on SOTA than on STONES.

SOTA's lack of activity is not suprising to me at all.

SOTA is the combination of all the inactive players from Swords from last set.

Inactive? the only person from SworDs that had joined SOTA that --was-- inactive, was BigRick. Myself and Seraph lost something to the tune of sixty countries between the two of us fighting Xtinct last set.

And ZDH, as far as supreme ruler... you've proven your chops as a leader in the past, although there were the two occasions when SOTA in previous incarnations defeated the alliance you lead, I wouldn't mind having you aboard, if you can stay active and for as long as this business I am having to tackle in RL, keep the peace until I get back. :P

I'll join SOTA if you take all your countries out of GDI and let me farm them.

Of course, then I'll quit again afterwards, but I'll join for at least a solid 3-4 days while I get as much land as possible.

See? This is why nobody ever takes you seriously, NS. Seems like every set you make the big hoopla about SOTA and then it fizzles like the back end of a Viagra dose.

Sorry that so much stuff came up for you though. When you eventually bring SOTA back (if ever) set up and get running before you start the Ad Campaign. Show us a product instead of just a promise :)

It's all right, no offense taken. Eh... I'll continue playing even if it's just me. I was never one to join someone else for the prospect of leadership positions or being one of "the best of the best", I learned a long time ago (April 19, 2001 as a matter of fact) that playing in someone's alliance and being relegated to the bottom of the totem pole even though you've had the skills to do every-bloody-one elses job on your own... you get feeling a little under-appreciated.

Back then it was about moving up the chain of command, having something to prove. Now, I'm just here to have fun.

Thing is, even now... with SOTA being myself and one other person, I don't mind it one bit. I would rather it be the two of us that are playing, than us two and a handful of inactive pricks.

The part that pisses me off, pissed me off even back then... was the 'fair-weather' members that would join up, and then as soon as a new tag came along, with their promises of greatness... they were jumping ship to join them.

Well, did most of those members come from other clans prior to your recruitment of them? I mean, it's the same thing as some girl being "the other woman" with a married man and when the guy finally leaves his wife for the new girl, her having the attitude that he'd never cheat on her.

If you recruited people from other major clans, the ones that probably left their clans to join you are the "fair-weather members" from those clans, and unless your first set is a success, they're going to continue to look for greener pastures.

If, as Dragon stated, you showed product instead of promise, you'd probably hold onto at least some of those members.
