making a killing? At $44 per bushel, a casher makes more than a farmer of the same landsize.

I take that back

A fascist farmer with 228% agricultural tech and 160% each business and residential tech makes about $95 per acre in tax income and 13.9 bushels per farm. At $44, they're making $611 per farm, plus the 95 from tax income. A casher only makes a bit over $600 per acre. So at $44, a fascist farmer is ahead.

A non-fascist farmer, though, makes about $125 per acre in tax income and about 12 bushels per farm, which at $44 is $528, putting them about equal to a casher.

So I'd say that with food prices at $44, fascist farmers are making slightly better than a casher (but definitely not a killing), and non-fascist farmers are basically even with cashers.

a demo farmer with almost maxed agri (call it %241) makes more then a fasc with almost maxed tech (228%). the demo will suffer about 2% less on the tech side (demo 243% tech fasc 230% + 15%) but the demo isnt losing $2.6 per bushel.

The fascist isn't loosing $2.6 per bushel either, since they are stockpiling the food rather than selling it.

And the bonuses multiply, so 2.3*1.15=264.5% boost, so a fascist still produces about 10% more than a democracy.

yea i wasnt sure if thats how the bonuses worked.

but if the farmer isnt selling it then are you accounting for the fact that a casher has to pay tax twice on the same bushel when a farmer only pays once (or none)

If the casher is democracy, it doesn't have to pay tax on that bushel.
If the casher is theocracy, it does pay tax on the bushel, but it then doesn't have to do a government switch to destock as a theocracy (and all farmers have to do a government switch to destock as theocracy).

It depends on the food prices, but at $44, I'd say the farmer is ahead if it has good business and residential techs. Its still pretty close there, though.

And if the countries are under 40k acres, the farmer has the advantage that it can build CS while stocking, allowing it to make a faster switch to TMBR, whereas the casher has to cash its turns while stockpiling. If you're over 40k acres, its just too expensive to switch to TMBR, regardless of your bpt.

And food prices are up to $45 now. But there's 3 billion bushels sitting there at $45.

still seems like the farmer will alyways be ahead. assuming both countries can get away with no or low military and the farmer has a decent amount of bus/res the casher still has to pay $44 a bushel for food it isnt stocking (food used) and on 40k acres i bet youre losing 20-25k per turn with that much population.

Pain more like +36K a turn with decent defense.

I remember years ago I had a 28K acres casher and I was paying a bushel per acre and I didn't have a buckload of defense... Then again I had a buckload of spies :/

well i know if you have defense its alot. my 20k acre rep cashers with max tech and 5m tr/tur are losing over 20k, they also have some agri tech but i dont think agri does anything unless you have farms built. at least it doesnt seem to.

Pain - but when food prices are just $40, casher would be ahead.

And food consumption isn't too bad. A 40k acre casher would be losing about 30k to 40k bushels per turn, or as high as 45k or so if they are a theocracy.

But they'll have only about twice as much population as the farmer, assuming the farmer has good residential tech, and they'll have the same size military, so the farmer will have about 16k to 20k bushels per turn lost at 40k acres.

That works out to about 0.5 more bushels per acre consumed by the casher, which takes away about $22 from their income per acre, which is pretty minor.

So, the conclusion is the same, $44 is pretty close to the tipping point where farmer becomes better than casher.
