The past few sets, ICN has been asked what our retal policy was. While we haven't had an official retal policy, we used a standard 1:1, 2:1 escalating retal policy. This past set we have been working on a new, official retal policy, that takes parts from other clans, and adding on a few of our own.

I like the country:country land:land part. But why two different %? Either it's 85% or its 100%. I don't see where the higher number will ever apply with this policy?

Erian, it's supposed to be where 100% land:land is used, but we'll consider it done if we've reached 85% before the 100% was gained, so we don't go overdue it and take back more than 100%. Went ahead and rephrased it.

icn policy is quite same as few other tags use.

It basically means:
We plan on being excessively land fat, and know smart grabbers will take our fluff. Therefore, we will make it a policy that we will regrab you until we have our fluff back, or just kill you.

OR

We support weak defensive strategies on the part of our players.

This seems like a weird attempt to combine all retal policies into something nonsensical that no one likes.

well detmer, I feel the same about Pdm's policy, so...

This is a policy aimed at giving my members the benefit of being able to retal to get their land back themselves instead of having to 100% rely on a retal team when countries decide they want to grab our members, then increase their networth tenfold to where a retal wouldn't get our members their land back. Tell your members to behave themselves and we would've been fine with 1:1 escalating retals.. but then I forget, clans won't be happy with 1:1 escalating retals either because they get retalled anyways.

1:1 retals will always be used as long as our retal team takes the retals, which will be 80% of the cases I'm expecting anyways, the L:L policies are meant strictly for members, if i'm not mistaken, PDM has the same rule in their policy, so what is it that you are unhappy with?

If L:L makes you unhappy, then don't hit any ICN members...

I fail to see why this is "overly complicated". Obviously the retal policy is intended to make OUR members happy, not YOURS, if you don't wanna deal with that not hitting is the way to go lol

L:L is fine as long as its from the country that got hit, but PDM is not going to accept L:L from your 'retal team'. Non-affected countries get 1:1. Otherwise, your policy is not that much different than ours.

If they really are professional retallers, 1:1 should be all they ever need to get L:L anyway, right?

Nole, ICN has less than 20 members - as such a retal team is probably a good idea.

When I started in ICN I was still blind to the reality of the future of the game, that the free exchange of land-grabs and retals benefits both alliances. I was still living with the 2003 mentality that all land grabbing was evil. My position has simply evolved.

As I also recall, my evolving beliefs that ICN should jump into the land-grabbing/retalling pool also led to me being forced out of ICN by a torch wielding mob.

Where did I say I am unhappy?

nowhere in the retal policy does it state that land:land will be used by the retal team, it clearly states when the original defending member takes the retal themselves, L:L will override our escalating retal policy, all other cases, escalating retal policy is used.
