It was closed because it was getting out of hand in terms of personal attacks. In case you are worried about it: we have an unofficial policy of mods who are involved with alliances at war on alliance are not allowed to moderated related threads without posting for general discussion first (or asking me or an admin).
If there is a topic on that thread that you wish to persue that is not in violation of the forum rules (like flaming a tag or tags) feel free to make a new thread about it should an opened one on that topic not already exist.

Personally speaking, the only time I ever touch threads is if they devolve into nothing but personal attacks and insults. If it's just a few posts/people, I would probably just delete the offending posts and let the thread continue. I can't speak for all mods, but I think that's typically the case.

99% of the time that is what happens. Sometimes it's to shut down attempts to derail the original topic of the thread as well. Unless there is a mod explicitely saying to drop the topic on a closed thread feel free to repost or continue any discussion from that thread onto a new one.

good call by mod's people getting rather toxic in that thread plus lack of good discussion

I've thought for some time the moderation on this forum is quite clearly Anti-MD and pro the various alliances most represented by the AT mods. I think its quiet clear which "side" is most well represented at the game moderation and forum moderation level.

The pathetic anti-cheat efforts made by the current moderators is proof enough. Maybe if some more even representation from MD/SOL was involved there would be a much more even moderation of the forums and game.
