i put about 20 rounds through a Barret a couple years ago. Buddy of mine has one. You could feel them rounds in your sinuses, although recoil wasnt as bad as you would expect. The spring loaded barrel probably has something to do with that. The .50 BMG is a horse of a round at 660 grains. a 9mm is usually only around 115 grains for comparison, not to mention the muzzle velocity. there is a lot of kinetic energy in that round, as old as it is.

Thats a direct fire weapon.... it counts! I fired a M777 before I got out... which is 155MM, but the M777 is an indirect fire weapon.

My crossman .177 scoped/red dot/lazer, flashlight bullpup, pump repeater with 26in fluted barrel 1/? twist and bayonet, makes all the rest look like a fluffin cap pistol! 1000fps of stand back and live.

Yeah, a couple of versions of the .50 cal. M2 and M85.
The 30mm chain gun mounted under a Cobra helicopter is not 'bigger' but does a hella lot more damage. But sitting in that front seat you aim thru optics that make it almost like a video game. Almost too easy.

But I can go bigger... 120mm mortar is bigger. But then a 120mm smooth-bore cannon is the same bore size, but not as long of a range but a much more fun splash when it hits the target. And pulling the triggers in a tank is so much more fun than hanging a round on the mortar.

When talking about firing a cannon there are really two different parts.... one is pulling the lanyard but the more important part is looking at the target and calling the cannon fire in. Only actual lanyards I have pulled have been for reproduction 12 pound field guns. Lotta fun and smoke. :) But calling in the big 8 inch howitzers... now THAT is destruction on a massive scale. :D Too bad we retired the 8in. That was a great gun.

Yeah, I like things that go BOOM. :)

my grandma has a 10 gauge double barrel side by side break gun. if she ever actually shot that thing at someone it would easily break her collar bone. she weighs 90 lbs on a good day lol.
