It is better to set the max of 3 orders instead of one big one since they cycle to the back of the line every time some goods fill part of it.

That is a great tip mrford. I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks! Do you think it's better to set each order at a different price? like lets say the most you want to spend is 35, should you also set 34 and 33 so that if something comes up at 33 it doesn't push your orders for 34 and 35 back to the end as well?

The price doesn't matter too much since it is first in line with an asking price over the sale price. So set your upper limit and roll with it.

As for your example, all orders will buy goods priced lower than the order. if you set orders for 33, 34, and 35, the 33 anf 34 orders are worthless if some 35 comes through. But if some $33 comes through, whichever of your 3 orders was made first will snag it since $33 is equal to or lower to all 3 of your asking prices. I suppose they stay first in line for some 33 of 34 priced fluff when the 35 cycles back if you want to keep a lower order up front till it hits it's asking price, but is it worth it? Say you set 3 35s instead, you will snag the first 3 blocks that sale below 35 once you reach the front of the line, always.

Although i suppose at that point is is personal preference at that point and what exactly you are trying to accomplish. When I am transferring tech on FFA I will set all my orders for $1 more than the current highest order so I can be 100% sure that my countries will get my goods. That isn't really important on solo servers unless you are cheating.

I'm rambling now.

i didn't relize that once you buy with a standing order if their is more left to the oder it moves back to the end of the line. that being said if oneone sells me bushels at 26 its at their loss... unless its a theocracy.

That isn't the point though. The point is if you set 3 orders you get more goods.

Thanks mrford that makes sense... Since an order for 35 will purchase bushels at 34 and below too. Weird that orders move to the back of the line like that. How did you figure that out just testing / watching really close?

standing orders get moved around to prevent 1 SO hoarding all goodies.

Does the same thing apply to sales? Right now I have two sets of turrets on sale for the same price, if someone buys some but not all of one does that one get moved to the back of the line (behind anyone else's turrets up for the same price)? And if so, would having multiple batches at the same price help keep one of them up at the front of the line compared with one large batch? And I suppose it's it worth the extra turn to post them?

I asked an admin how SOs worked. I was trying to figure out tech transfers for FFA.
