I gave up rob, at first it was ok trying to keep up with everyone in land at 1700-1900 prices. But now I make a fluffty 15m a turn being one of the biggest techers around. No matter how well we play this one definitely looking at a really fluffty finish.

15mil a turn is good. I think only the top 2 cashers make that much or probably a little less

The bigger you get as a techer at these prices the more your F yourselves over. Way too much supply.

even at 1650 a point, a techer is probably still more efficient than a casher if you tech all your turns and have 3 good tech allies.

I'm limiting my selling to just enough to make one lg. Even if I dont grow fast enough, I guess the outcome will be the same unless the tech market rebounds

Hey nick, i dunno whether rep>theo. I'll have to take your word for it.
It's only my 2nd time playing casher in primary (played last 2 toruney sets as casher too) so i'm only nub at playing this strat.

I'm a bit paranoid about the rep 90% mil strength and i like the lower private market prices a theo has and the building bonus. We'll see how well i can do. I feel it's going ok so far.

Koh... you've got too many spies. Losing 2% spies for each failed op against you is painful. Just drop your allies so i can grab them easier

Coffee, I have calculate the strength & cash produced:
Republic win theo in military strength
Rep = 90%+50% = 140%
Theo = 100%+32% = 132%
Cash produced a bit complicated, lazy to calculate =x
Same land & tech Rep will produce more cash

Theo have advantage during destock, you could stock pile with Rep casher & destock with Theo (if public market military price high)

Theo cashier is great for shorter sets like express. The more turns you play after x amount the +50% population starts to really hammer you on food expense, also losing out in the pci tech percentages.

The rep will out produce the theo hands down after the country is set up and producing and tech levels are up.

But a great advantage to the theo cashier is its a very powerfull early grabbing country if utilized properly. As the set carries and turns mount up it starts to change and the rep will take over as the better government for production.

the other advantage to a theo, is that when someone sees the R next to your country name, that automatically makes you a target.

you can nerf that with lots of a weapons tech and good spal, but for the most part an R will always be more of a target.


with that being said, i still would rather run a rep casher over a theo in a longer game with the said advatanges that herbs pointed out.

I'm not sure why techers go Theo on Primary. I can see it on Express, maybe even Tourney, but on Primary it seems like a bad idea.

Last set when food was consistently > 50 for weeks i was almost crying and i tried to be clever and made (what i now recognise as) a dumbass move at 40k acres of thinking that i could do better by building mbs instead of residences as i was increasing in size so i had something like 20k ent, 19k res and 10k mb. Stupid stupid stupid!

And as military prices were nice and high i thought i could do a conversion to mbr but of course i didn't have a great stockpile... what a mess.

From memory, rep casher will generate 11-12% more net revenues after food. I figure that a theo cash start is much faster than a rep cash start owing to the building bonus and the pop bonus. I think that by the time i hit 1900 acres i'm in a much stronger position than i would be as a rep. Then i can use that advantage to grab agressively.

Also, the theo private market is a nice insurance for when there is either high public market military prices or zero military on the market. Several times this set i've wanted to make 3-4 PS but only had the jets to make 1-2. With 0 jets on the public market i've still been able to afford to make the grabs i wanted to by buying from my private market. I would have missed out on several grabs if i had a rep private market.

I just hope food stays lower than it was last set.

I thought Coffee Place was a Theo Techer and not a Casher.
I'm almost done grabbing so I will not be selling much tech for the next week or so - just enough to keep buying defence.

Hah... i wish i was that good that i could tech and get to 30k acres that quick. I think i'm a reasonably good grabber but i don't think i'm as good as either you or trep.

I'm done rob grabbing also, so I'll only be putting up a little tech also for a week or so here. Instead of the old 300-400k tech a day I'll drop to 150-200k

lmao, no it won't. You might as well undercut to sell. It's slightly going up because i'm buying massive amounts of tech the past couple days instead of military. Also, a couple big techers are not selling as much due to whatever reasons. It's too late for people to switch strat now unless they stockpile over $1-2 bil for the conversion depending on land and bpt. That tech is going to come up regardless of what you do

I know you're a pretty good player jj, but i think you need to know that before coming out with "i'm gonna get you, X" you should really stock turns and as a techer dump stock to build up a cash pile, then make your threat and follow through within minutes.

All you've done is tell roksilver that you're going to get him which allows him to stock turns, build defences or make a pre-emptive strike on you. Not good warring strategy.

Pointless having missiles if your victim knows you're planning to attack and with sdi as cheap as it is roksilver should be able to buy enough to stop a good few of whatever jj throws at him.

Jj should have
* created more ic - convert some soon to be worthless labs or grab a commie and build ic on the new land
* dump stock 4 times over the next 48 hours
* stocked bonus points
* stocked turns (only spend turns selling tech)
* not said anything

After 48 hours he ahould have had $700-1.3b cash, depending on his tech levels, 83(25) turns with 16/24 bonua points to buy turns with.

Then he should have sent his message. Demoralised roksilver 7 times then br'd or ab'd him... br being better but much more expensive in terms on oil. That's what i'd have done anyway and it's been successful for me in the past.
