NO DRUNKEN ANGRY LEPRECHAUN??!!!

WHAT A TERRIBLE DAY THIS IS TURNING OUT TO BE! I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE TO PICK PRINCETON OVER NOTRE DAME, SIMPLY BECAUSE THEIR LOGO - DUE TO IT'S STRIPES - IS SLIGHTLY LESS BORING THAN MONOCHROME "ND"

I SHOULD HAVE JUST STAYED IN BED TODAY!

OK, THIS IS GETTING TO BE TRULY UNACCEPTABLE NOW!

EVERY YEAR I PICK DUKE TO GO DEEP IN THE TOURNAMENT, BECAUSE OF THEIR DEVIL LOGO.

THIS YEAR LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE ONE OF THE BEST YEARS YET FOR DUKE TO MEET MY EXPECTATIONS, BUT ESPN HAS THEIR LOGO AS JUST A PLAIN OLD BORING "D". WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!?!?! IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A MENACING DEMON WITH A BAD-ASS GOATEE! NOW I HAVE TO PICK DUKE TO LOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND TO TROY. TROY'S LOGO IS ALSO JUST ONE BORING LETTER, BUT THEIR "T" SORT OF ALSO RESEMBLES A SWORD, WHICH IS SLIGHTLY MENACING, ESPECIALLY TO THE PRO-SWORD-CONTROL CROWD. A SORT-OF-SWORD-LOOKING-"T" IS WAY MORE FRIGHTENING THAN A BORING "D".

THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER!

ALREADY, ESPN IS SCREWING WITH MY SYSTEM.

I HAD A BRACKET FILLED OUT ON YAHOO ALREADY, AND I HAD ETSU BEATING FLORIDA, BECAUSE THEY SHOWED A VERY SCARY ZOMBIE PIRATE AS THEIR LOGO. ESPN JUST SHOWS AN E, WHICH MEANS I HAVE TO PICK THE HUNGRY ALLIGATOR INSTEAD.

RIDICULOUS!

I FINALLY HAD TO JUST GIVE ESPN MY GMAIL ADDRESS AND CREATE AN ACCOUNT THAT WAY. TERRIBLE! THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A SPORTS BEHEMOTH!

ALSO, I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING ELSE THAT INFURIATING SWIRLY THING RESEMBLES! IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN A NORTH CAROLINA PLAYER HAS SHOT A FREE THROW ATTEMPT, AS THE BALL ROLLS ALL AROUND THE RIM BEFORE SWIRLING OUT!

YOU SHOULD NOT BE SURPRISED THAT ONE OF MY PICKS THIS YEAR - IF ESPN USES THE SAME LOGOS AS YAHOO - WILL BE FOR NORTH CAROLINA TO BE THE FIRST EVER NUMBER ONE SEED TO LOSE TO A SIXTEEN SEED!

ALSO, I'M TRYING TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON ESPN USING THE FACEBOOKS, AND IT DOESN'T SEEM TO DO ANYTHING! JUST AN INFURIATING SWIRLY THING!

IT SORT OF LOOKS LIKE A TORNADO, IF YOU WERE VIEWING THE TORNADO FROM ABOVE.

OR LIKE THE WEATHER MAP WHEN THERE IS A HURRICANE COMING.

Ratski, have you ever tried specifically targeting cabezon since moving to WA? I live over on the East side of the state now, but when I lived near Puget Sound I often wished I knew how to find/catch cabezon. During ling cod season, cabezon is about the only other thing open, and it would have been nice to go for them after catching the one ling I was allowed (or after realizing I'm not going to catch any ling today)

I still usually make at least one trip over to Edmonds each year to fish for ling.. so if you've got any cabezon tips, I'm all ears! :)

Um, what?

This statement confuses me on many levels.

1) I don't understand how it relates to anything I've said in this thread. Why was I specifically addressed?

2) Unless I'm mistaken, the closest The Constitution comes to mentioning the separation of church and state is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

3) Again, unless I'm mistaken, nowhere in The Constitution is there any prohibition against churches or their leaders engaging in political discourse. Its the other way around. The Federal Government is prohibited from interfering with the religious beliefs / expression of citizens. This is one of the many reasons that Obamacare was such a travesty, IMO. It attempted to force people of faith to violate their beliefs in order to comply with a decree from our rulers.. I mean representatives.

The founders of the US were concerned with protecting the church (any church) from the state. Not the other way around.

Its no secret that 18% of Americans are clueless when it comes to politics. I'd put the number quite a bit higher than that, actually. Look how many will keep voting in senators and representatives who favor Federal overreach on issues that are already handled at the state level. Politicians (from both teams) in the Federal Government have run up a debt that works out to over $160,000 per US tax payer. Every tax payer is on the hook for enough money to buy my house 1.25 times. Yet we keep reelecting these lying, dishonorable thieves over and over again.

I'm still not a huge fan of Trump, but one promise I'm glad to see he seems to be taking seriously is the repeal of the "Affordable" (lol) Care Act. Getting rid of that is not "Taking away healthcare"... it is restoring the freedom of people to CHOOSE how they want to handle those expenses. We already had systems to handle medical care for the poor. They weren't perfect, but they were far better than the so called solution we got in 2009. We didn't need a bill forcing everybody to carry coverage they don't want and have no use for. We didn't need the Commucrat party doubling or tripling everyone's premiums. Obamacare hurt FAR more people than it helped. Worse than the financial damage it did though is the assault on individual liberty. Every one of our "representatives" who voted for it should have been charged with treason.

Here are a couple paragraphs from the article that I found particularly interesting:

"Ninety-seven percent of the barely disguised phony voters were allowed to vote unimpeded, and none was referred for criminal charges or officially reported to the Board of Elections. One can only imagine what a sharp operator trying to fix an election could do by flooding polling places with ineligible voters."

"Last year a Democratic New York election official, Alan Schulkin, was forced to resign after he was caught on tape telling the truth about electoral process. “Certain neighborhoods in particular, they bus people around to vote,” Mr. Schulkin said. “They put them in a bus and go poll site to poll site.” In another case a local polling official reported to the police that a group of men had apparently voted more than once, while others were told they couldn’t vote because their ballots had already been cast. The police response, according to press reports, was that they don’t investigate alleged voter fraud."

Both the school and airport examples are also places where you may not legally bring a gun either. We're able to recognize that objects may be dangerous in a certain situation, but we don't ban the objects everywhere, because they do have legitimate uses.

There are legitimate and very important reasons for arms to remain legal and accessible to the general public. That's why we have an amendment guaranteeing that right.

Another problem is that when dear old grandma passes away, the family rarely rushes to close out her voters registration.
Dead people on voting registration does NOT equal voting fraud.

And where is there any evidence of this gigantic conspiracy to gather all the records of double registration and dead people's names and addresses and then have an army of undocumented people come out BY THE MILLIONS to risk being caught casting illegal votes.

Trump cites the Pew Report of 2012, but either never really read it or is incapable of understanding it.
Here it is.
http://documents.latimes.com/la-pew-voter-registration/

Trump follows conspiracy theory media, and I suspect his understanding of this Pew Study comes not from reading the actual report, but from some CT whacko's false regurgitation of that study.

But he's President now, so $million$ of taxpayers dollars will be spent investigating this nonsense. His narcissistic personality disorder does not allow him to process the fact that nearly 3 million more people voted for Hillary than for him. He can't stand it, and won't let it go.

I'm no fan of Trump. I think he's pretty darn scary, actually, but.. on this issue I don't see what the problem is. We're suddenly worried about wasting millions of taxpayer dollars when the issue is the integrity of our elections? Where's this outrage about irresponsible spending when Team Blue is in power? Our Federal Government wastes BILLIONS of the dollars of it's subjects every year... no matter which team is currently at the helm.

The very fact that the left fights so hard against election integrity measures is enough to convince me that there probably really is an issue there. When idiots start talking about "racism" just because a state wants it's election officials to check ID???? Yeah, there's some fraud going on there.

So, maybe I'm remembering wrong, but... I thought a thread I commented on yesterday was posted to this board. Just found it on GT.

If I'm not wrong about where it was originally posted, why was it moved? It isn't as if this board is so cluttered with nonsense that no one can keep up. Only four threads (excluding the bonus thread) have been active in the last 24 hours. The front page of the board still contains threads which were last active ten days ago.

I understand that this is a board devoted specifically to alliance discussion, but for crying out loud... all of the boards are so dead now that it seems to me a little silly to be so strict about something so meaningless.

I was just happy we escaped that game with a tie. Our offense was obviously not firing on all cylinders Sunday.

It was frustrating to see what should have been an easy FG for the win sail wide left, but then I remembered that just 10 minutes earlier, I had been sure we were going to lose. So I'll take the tie.

Was kind of cool to see three blocked or disrupted kicks in one game.

"What is particularly sad is that while most of us understood the egregiousness of this situation, we also knew from the beginning that Hillary Clinton was not going to be prosecuted or punished for it. Our system is allowing big corporations, big banks, big politicians to get away with things that normal Americans would never be allowed to. We bail out the banks. We bail out the corporations. there's reason for me saying ppl under-price the units.. i saw few times while online, and saw those 90+ bucks units get sold out, but there's no more at higher price.. it means those commies think that the price should be selling at 90+ bucks, and everyone just put the price at 90+ bucks, when they could have sold at higher price.. for few times i had intentionally put the bid price at 199 bucks to induce commie to sell higher.. when big guys like u think that there is too much supply, that means u probably gonna to sell it cheap..

The clearing of the market does not necessarily indicate that higher priced goods would have sold. A very low price will often create demand where none would otherwise exist.

Before giving up and deleting my commie this reset, I spent three days just trying to get rebuilt after retaliating on one topfeed. I had 100 BPT but couldn't get my goods to sell for enough to get the land built. I was often listing my goods for the running average or below, but they still wouldn't sell.

Nobody really hates anybody else (except for the occasional individual who still holds a grudge for stuff from 3 years ago)

The tags mostly live together in peace and harmony, because the main thing to cause competition (the difficulty of gaining land) has been removed from the game. Boring.

Most in SoF don't like stones, but that fight would be about as suspenseful as Great White vs Pomeranian.

EDIT: Ford still hates everybody.

Last year, that rebate reduced our contribution to £12.9 billion. That’s around £200 for every person in the UK.

So Brits only pay about $25.00 per month to have a foreign entity interfering in their lives? Bargain!

Here in the US, on average our citizens pay almost $850.00 per month to have DC violate us. Any chance we could take the UK's spot in the EU?

Uh, dumbass, that was straight up political violence. You don't know much about Ireland do you?

As someone who is married to a Scot and has spent a hell of a lot of time in Ireland and Scotland, I can tell you absolutely positively that it is not that simple.

In those two countries, religion and politics have become hopelessly intertwined, and religious bigotry is a very real thing. Henry VIII split from the Catholic Church nearly 500 years ago because the Pope wouldn't let him get a divorce. Since then, if you're a supporter of the monarchy, you're most likely Protestant. Loyalist vs Republican (those who want a free Ireland) is pretty much synonymous with Protestant vs Catholic. The dislike of the two groups for each other is strong, and mutual. Both sides have a long sad history of atrocities against the other.... killing in the name of Christ.

Want an example of just how sickeningly strong this hatred is? Check out the lyrics to "One Sunday Morning"; a song that is still sung at pro Republican rallies/concerts today. https://www.reverbnation.com/...song_show_lyrics/12327583 "Orangeman" is slang for Protestant.

I've been to a pro Republican event in a small hall in Belfast. 30th anniversary of the ten Irish Republican prisoners who died while on hunger strike in a British prison in Northern Ireland. I DAMN sure didn't tell anyone there that I'm a Lutheran.

Of course, not every Irish or Scottish Catholic hates Protestants (my wife and in-laws for example) but religion is still a divisive force there today. Both sides try to justify their actions by claiming to be on God's side. To me it is absurd that two groups of people who both claim to follow Christ will ignore his message of peace and kill each other, but that's reality.

People with true good values and ethics don't get into that business, and if they do, the rest of the sharks sniff them out and make sure they don't get anywhere. Bad for business.

Absolutely right. And that is precisely why The US Constitution originally gave very few powers to the Federal Government. Our founders recognized the fact that power corrupts, because they had been on the receiving end of that corruption.

Over the next couple centuries, as people forgot the reality that tyranny always follows when government is powerful, politicians conned the people of this country into giving them ever increasing power. Now we're having to relearn the lessons our founders tried to shield us from. I hope we learn soon enough that we don't have to go to the same lengths they did to throw off the yoke of tyranny.... but I doubt we will. I fear our descendants will have to pay dearly for our failure to jealously guard our liberty.

I agree strongly with Rockman. This is a team play server. Whatever goal a tag wishes to pursue, there is nothing wrong with it as long as it is within the rules set by the admins.
