Anyways, that just proved that me and all the mods had a private dinner discussion in Nigeria last weekend to discuss your IP address. I'm sure the mods will be here shortly to confirm it.

Anyhow I was just letting you know what he told me. I am not the one saying it, it was him.
Nextly you have done IRC in the past...so he might have logs. I know you don't think you have been in a room with him...but I hate to say it, you never know what "color" his is and where he has been.
Nextly it is very possible that he has obtained your IP from a clan leader somewhere in alliance. I would say FFA...but I don't think you play there.
Either way it was not obtained from these forums nor from a moderator.
I don't know what else to tell you. :/

Your IP can show up in IRC.

IRC is entirely safe, and your IP will show up in any room on any server unless you find a third party program to block it.

Additionally, some people have software that stores logs and they could easily look anyone up and find their past IP just by searching a username.

For instance in this case, someone who stores logs volunteered Fatty's IP to me. I really couldn't care less about anyone's IP, I just wanted to mess with Fatty some more.

So the moral of the story is, if you don't want people to have your IP don't go on IRC, or the internet at all. Any website you go to tracks your IP address.

Who sees your IP on IRC? Normal users? Or some admin there decided to be chummy with Seth by leaking Fatty's IP to him? If the latter, the list of people with ops in IRC probably needs to be revisited. Especially if that IRC is linked to in the header of this site.
