I'm really curious what the mindset is of a person who would do this? Obviously they are ruining their own chances of doing well enough to stay in game A. What's the point, especially in tournament when you have to play for a month just to get to game A? Are people so miserable that they simply enjoy hurting others?

but to your actual question yes, there are others who play just to ruin others games.

if it is a grudge, it would have to be from the set before last ... sprockitz was in game A last set, but kenny was not ...

unless it is from stll earlier, and the perp changed his name to kenny, played thru game B or C last set, arriving in game A this set to go after sprockitz

which demands some consideration ... the delay to the gratification is substantial ...

all of which suggests to me that it is more likely kenny ran across sprockitz oppotunistically, recognized the vulnerablity, and was overcome by a dark impulse to "teach somebody a lesson"

sadly, there are many such players ...

but i will wager that sprockitz has indeed learned many lessons

We'll given this is only the 3rd set I've ever played and the first was all explorer in division c, it can't be something from tournament. So either random or something carried over from another server or he didn't like something I said on here. :)

i sometimes spy sprockitz, he usually goes all-def heavy and does all-x.

i've also had many sets where i get missile showers for no apparent reason in tourney.

it can take more than a year or two to learn the game and grow into a strong player

during that time, there will be periods of frustration

some personalities become convinced that the better players are actually cheating to get their results

at which point some less savory players begin lashing out

hopefully they get past that stage ... or just quit the game

but some lurk about ... hungry ghosts ... haunting the game ...causing mischief and destruction

they are a persistent feature of the game

gdi plus tanks and sdi ... just gotta have 'um

I got absolutely bombarded late game in Tourny B last set, Was an all-X Commie Indie.. they got me at a point in which there was no recovery... somehow still managed to scrape into Game A.

SDI/Tanks/Troops/Spies then have no fear :P

There are clearly players in this game, particularly this server, who throw a set away and just play to hurts others.

Take this case, sprockitz is clearly right. And if you go all defense with troops/spies/tanks in many game strategies you clearly limit your chances of winning. So yes, you're safe, but will not win.

And players taken by a craze to BR/AB others without any reason, have noticed that with some of my allies from primary who got attacked out of nothing.

Two sets ago when I was in Tournament B, for some reason there were over 100 players in each of Tourney B and C, though I think most were inactive. I don't know why they were there, but they would have resulted in most of the real players in those games being able to move up to Tourney A. This means that some people who wouldn't normally make it to Tourney A probably got in, including suiciders. Thats a theory anyway.

GDI in Tournament is worth very little, if just limits players less or more twice your size from attacking. As we all know, first if you're just a half decent player the half size will disappear in few turns, and second war declaration happens very often here....

the declare war button makes gdi a joke in tourney.

I have been ruined from special attacks in tourney. I don't double tap. The guy that got me promised to do it again. This was in C and I didn't even grab the guy once.

I believe if someone declares war on you in tourney GDI is worthless.

Doubletap here doesn't matter from a rule point of view. GDI protection is from attacks from players twice or half your size.

Getafix, mrford is not after top results. We will not blame him for that if that's how he wants to play.

But what he's to blame for greatly is that he's a completely stupid overaggressive player who spends most of his time finding excuses to enter into wars with other players, and the same inexcusable aggressiveness he places in his countries and in his forums posts is what most likely he has in real life also.

I told him earlier, he looks to me as having personal issues he tries to get over in this game. That's no issue with me, better than killing somebody else in real life, but he must understand that he's an annoyance to other "normal" people. He should express his aggressiveness with a much better style, which I don't think will ever happen.
