I haven't disussed this with anyone really, more of a random thought but.
What would people think of 1 month resets with 2X the turn rate/max turns stored. TO counterbalance, cut all SS/PS/GS/BR/AB damage by 1/2 along with the oil requirements and the PS return time. maybe double the bonus turns you can get in a day as well.
Also market times would be cut in 1/2 as well.

I realize that doesn't balance entirely but approximately for war it should.

On the other hand it might create more work for some netting strategies..

For a war monger, it more or less sounds like one will have to hit "hit again" twice as many times...

Eh, one of the major problems with this server is that there are too many turns vs countries. Increasing the amount of turns would add even more power the an already overpowered fs.

If you both halve the damage and the set, and only double the turns, it would mean half the kills in wars of equally long wars too (i.e. say a war from mid set to end).

except where damage is halved, and turns are doubled, then its status quo, but with less time, so fs's are still enhanced since there is a shorter period to recover from eating them...

More turns in a day leads to:

A) More volatile market (and more people trying to undercut each other). Brought to extremity, it encourages turn hoarding - see Express server.

B) Increased FS strength, because even though you have double the turns, and half the damage so that it is so called in "status quo", if you ALSO didn't half the pop growth, half the TPT, half the food income, half the cash income, half the upkeep, half the building costs, make CSes take 2 turns to build, half the BPT, etc, then it really isn't in status quo at all.

The FSing alliance will be able to pull ahead faster, especially in a situation where the defender has no stored turns (ahead by 240(240) turns), since essentially the FSing alliance has 2x as much income if it isn't halved.

C) If you don't half the rate at which DR builds up, it would lead to lower land amounts across the server, because you would require 2x as many land grabs to grab the same amount of land, but you don't get 2x as much ghost acres, particularly due to the new C:C DR. This again, strengthens planned land trading (with multiple partners) and weakens bottomfeeding.

D) You will lose more players who will find that they do not have enough time to play this game more than once a day. Very few people play Express because of this, and a lot play Primary.

We did have 1 month long set with turns gained each 15 minutes back during one of the EC test sets. It was fun.

Anyway, not to sound like a broken disc, but to really change game dinamycs we do need alliance war and lg features to be implemented at the game code level. That way limits can be implemented top down by the admins...

Wars really drag out over two resets. I would be a lot more likely to play in a one month reset. I support the general idea here. Besides, if it is not popular enough, only a month has been wasted and the two month reset could make a return.

Xinhuan raises a lot of good points. More thought would have to go into this. Some other things I have noticed:

GDI rules / timers would need adjustment

I assume you meant double bonus points, not just turns?

Double the bonus land (20 acres every 12 hours or 40 every 24)?

I was unclear if you were intending to cut the value of a "turn" in half to compensate. If so, you would need to cut the explore rate in addition to the other things Xin mentioned in (B) above.
