Interesting that bradenburg and EEVIL both stopped attacking 4 days ago. I guess people are really having issues finding proper targets.

You can't stop imo. If you're a casher/farmer/indy. You need to push through. Stopping at 40k-50k = a fluffty finish. Imo.

Last reset, Palemoon proved people wrong by finishing 2nd place with only 40k. In fact, he would have probably won if I didn't use up his turrets defending my warring country.

Lots of commies to farm but non-commies have to build on double the land + rebuilding costs.

1,000 acres is going to result in roughly 500M more $ at end of reset (with like 1000 turns to go), but if you factor in:
- jet losses
- construction costs
- oil cost
- opportunity cost (20% cash bonus)
- retal possibility
- Increased expenses
- Increased tech to reach %

You come to the conclusion that only same-strat grabs might be worth while at this point...

I could be wrong but it's peanut difference.
I do suppose that the bigger advantage of being big is the bigger private market.

Edit: bushel prices being so high should actually deter people from stopping to grab, Blid so I do think you have a point there.

But if prices were like $42 I'd say stock-em and dump-em ! lol

It is lack of targets for me right now blid. I found some today, but Most guys I haven't hit yet are in 3 DR when I find time to log in, or they can likely hit me back, or their land is just too low. No point in forcing myself to grab, then take a loss. I did kinda just give up for a few days there when I had nothing to hit. I may just explore / cash out now. I'm having a crap set anyways, so why bother worrying about it. There's always next set anyways. Lol

He didn't lose as much to the ABs as he would lose in the conversion. If he's getting bomb structured, converting off dict spy bonus hurts more too.

I'm sure most people didn't spend their time trying to figure it out.

But also, every reset, all you ever do is criticize what everyone else is doing and never once do you reveal your country. Stuff like: oh this person is leeching and it's wrong, this person is top feeding and is stupid, this person just made a dumb grab, this person retaled too late and that's wrong.

Why you can't just leave people alone and let them play the way they want? If I want to change gov't I'm going to and I don't need you to second guess me in front of everyone and make it look like I'm stupid. You put people in a situation of, explain your move or I'm going to make you look dumb. I have my reasons for what I did and I don't need to explain it. Not every move is for short term gain and I don't like revealing my longer term strategy. If you can't figure it out don't come out guns ablazing saying what I did was dumb.

If you dont like people pin pointing you and your country, you shouldnt even tell everyone how you got topfed and get identified by blid.

This set started out badly for me, with a planned ~700 turn tech start and god awful tech prices (how else does one start as a farmer or oiler on this server?). I then tossed up between farmer and oiler, and chose oiler.

It might not have been the right choice - hard to tell as both oil and food have been strong.

However, just as I got going with some market plays, I was RORed on a couple of retals. Both retals I did were within 48 hours, but neither of the countries could accept that this could happen to them, and ROR'd me. One justification was simply "you took too much on that retal so I'm going to hit you again". Both countries seemed to think that I'd be happy to walk away after an "even trade", even though their poor grabbing decisions had cost me many acres that required rebuilding.

Since then I've been having more fun warring than I was going to have as a netting oiler. I'm now fairly confident that neither "Victory shall be mine" or "Delphinus" will finish in the top 50, which I count as job done!

For Chrissakes we're talking about $150/NW atm on the public market with tons of commies overselling themselves. So $15Bil stock at the moment would get you 100M NW jump.

Yes it's a little early but why wait until $140 jets when you can get them for $90 lol.

Huh? Bobby? He said he wasn't playing this round. Anyway, the techer had a nice set, prices are so bad I don't know if he can win, but if he gets a good public market jump like I did last set, he can make his move very cost effectively. I wasn't even a demo when I did it heh.

The jet price sounds to me just like someone is doing a big retal.

Definitely just a big retal. The amount of food sold today is actually less than in the last 2 days.

If any techer dumped food, the price would have fallen by more than $2, but it hasn't. Also, jet average is still $99 over the last 6, 12 and 24 hours.
