The news is minimizing what happened there. At 1230am pst the po po had to fluffcan the helicopter because of no visibility from fires. Armored vehicles and swat were escorting all calls of service in the area for the police and fire dept. Missouri has to take the black mans fluff out of her ass and bring some order to the jungles. meh, from what i understand some dumbas ran up on some cops and started shooting at them, gunfight ensued, and the suspect was wounded and laying in the street.

EMS can not enter an active scene till an all clear is given for their safety, it is SOP. Additionally, it was a night of protests so most of the roads were blocked to start with adding to response time. The less informed saw this as a denial of medical attention, and a video was circulating without context.

rumor mills and ignorance to realities spiraled once again.

should be fun to watch. play stupid games, win stupid prizes. you give up your rights to anything when you shoot at cops imo.

The tragedy is that the actions of one person are viewed as being directly linked with a movement to decrease the profiling of black Americans by police. It is also unfortunate that there is a general lack of quality education among many individuals involved in and comment on this general issue.

Also, shooting at a police officer warrants the response that was given.

I don't think it is really a Black thing, but minorities are disproportionately the victims of police brutality. The crux of the issue though isn't race, it's police brutality.

They asphyxiated a young white man with severe autism in Frederick, MD the other year. Killed a homeless man in New Mexico for sleeping on a deserted hill. And the list goes on. There is an obvious training issue.

There are one million cops in the US, and hundreds of millions of public interactions a year.

Idealisticly there would be no police brutality, but this ain't fluffing candyland. Stop acting like the majority of cops beat people up. That isn't a true narrative. You take a sample size of a million from anywhere in the world and you are going to get some bad apples that dont respond well under pressure. That is reality.

to be clear, my view isnt strictly formed around those stats as some of them are a stretch, but it is a useful info graphic to dispel some stereotypes out there.

blacks just commit more crime. weather you want to attribute that to poverty, genetics, culture whatever, that is the fact. and it is also the reason cops act differently around them. not being on guard around statistics like that is contrary to survival instincts, and it creates problems. obviously.
