Greetings,

I create this thread as a means to let all SOLers past and present know that we will be having a special commemorative reset in Feb-Mar this year. This reset will be doubly special as it is our custom and tradition to ensure that the first reset of every year is themed to honour those who have played for SOL and sadly passed away. This tradition was started in March 2001 with the death of Duke (Jeff Headley) and has grown to include past players Gasparator (Jeff Michie) and more recently the very sad passing of johnny k3nt in 2009. If you look back through the country logs of this game you will find tributes to our fallen players during this time of year.

With no further ado I shout out across the EE wires to invite any player who has played for SOL in its 13 year history to join us for what we hope to be a very special reset!

This is the first commerative set that I will be able to participate in offically even though I have been with SOL since 2001.

It would mean so much to me if we can get as many old SOLer or recent old Soler back for next set, even those who are not on this list to join back up for a glorious reset.

SOL was my first alliance that I have ever joined on the internet. I was a blank slate in 2001 and could be molded on the internet in almost any way possible. The leaders and friends that I met up with (which I wont even attempt to list because it would be extreemly long) made a small impact on me bit by bit.

I believe that because of SOL, I have been molded into a dedicated individual with a high amount of honour, trust, strength and will. That because of my friends that I have met over the years, my understanding, prospective, and empathy for people have grown every day.

For ALL of this, Solers past and present, I thank you from the deepest recesses of my heart.

SOL has been an overall holder of honor and loyalty by its members. It has gone through good times and bad times, sometimes varrying of its true mission and sometimes being right ontop of it. SOL has been a little of everything when looking at for face value.

To me SOL is more then just the history behind its name.
Friends ships have grown and binded over the years. Love have been found multiple times. And also, as Dagga has mentioned, there has been great tragedy that we all had to face together.

For myself, I had strived to assist any past member where ever possible. One thing I try to say to everyone I have spoken to is this, and I have always truely meant it.

"If you ever need anything to talk about, I will always be here for you." To me, that is SOL.

So again, all past members of every SOLer generation, I ask you to return this coming reset not just for SOL, but for me too.

heh... hey, I'm sure SOL would help us track down oldies if the sides were reversed. And besides, anything that gets folks to come back and play is great. We can bring em back to MD after SOL's commemorative set. ;)

I have spent time in SoL a few times, but I am happy in LCN. Besides, I doubt dagga would want me there lol

Ruthie, it is truly impossible for everyone to like each other. One thing most of us have in common though is that we have been true SOlers are one point, working together towards common goals.

Pang, I actually doubt that. If SOLers attempt to flame other SOLers for outside political issues, they would be disgracing this reset. I wont let that happen, and many vets will see the set turn out well too.

We will have each others back, even if it is only for one reset.

I was hoping for a place to stay when I come to visit Australia, and a back rub when I get there. Maybe play a cricket match or two.

(I'm not really coming to Australia...altho that would be awesome...)
