it happens every set. most people have reached their tech goals, so the demand is dropping. granted, the supply is also dropping with the ppl switching, but its kinda how it rolls every set at this point.

Sales volume increased in ag yet the low price dropped almost 1300 dollars in 2 days. This isn't a case of supply and demand, it's a case of people being tards fluffing up the market. I know it drops, that's natural and a given.

yeah basically people get scared that in midset someone will undercut them, so they undercut. Most people who take #1 in Alliance know better and place on the market as they see fit.

Yeah I know there is at least one techer out there just selling the goods at whatever the SO is at. Causing a faster than normal crash in my opinion.

I have been trying to slow it down, by creating SO's for 1 unit 20 bucks cheaper then the current market rate. Hoping that by creating a higher fake demand, it would help out all of us techers. But hasn't been working well, which lead me to post this thread.

Colo's complaining about people undercutting tech prices, because that drives the tech prices lower than they could otherwise be based on simple supply and demand.

However, if the other part is what's confusing you, Colo is saying he puts out standing orders that are just below normal market rate to hopefully drive tech prices back up by having higher priced standing orders that need to be fulfilled. (Of course, I doubt this is too effective, since once his 1 point orders are fulfilled, they'd go away).

Make sense now?

[quote]
bil·lion
[bil-yuhn] Show IPA noun, plural bil·lions ( as after a numeral ) bil·lion, adjective

noun
1.
a cardinal number represented in the U.S. by 1 followed by 9 zeros, and in Great Britain by 1 followed by 12 zeros.

2.
a very large number: I've told you so billions of times.

Dictionary.com does not agree with you.

Regardless, I was actually debating whether it should have been used in a possessive context.

you dont understand the very definition you just posted. this is fine.

few billion

billions

you dont have a few billions, you have a few billion.

you can have billions, but you cant have a few billions.

few is the key word here

I can't say I know a specific grammar rule for this, but from the "ear test" I'd probably have to say mrford's got it right.

Billion can certainly be pluralized, but if you put the "few" in front of it, it's at least unnecessary/redundant to say few billions. Not 100% sure it's actually wrong though.

Yes that is basically what I tried to do.

Hometurf- My intentions on setting the SO's slightly below market rate was because I know that a few techers are selling at whatever the SO is, so the idea was to trick that person into thinking there is demand, about 20 bucks cheaper than the market rate, and that techer would just put all of his tech up at that price. Hard to say if it worked or not, if it did then minimal at best. But looking at agriculture specifically, I see the low point price did increase the next day. So it could have worked, or what I was originally talking about was just a intra-clan market transfer and they were done after 1 day.

Hometurf-

Time start Time end Min Max Total volume
Aug 29, 20:00 Aug 30, 20:00 $3001 $4229 5,888,840
Aug 30, 20:00 Aug 31, 20:00 $2101 $3599 7,919,488
Aug 31, 20:00 Sep 1, 20:00 $2670 $3331 6,534,077

That is the market data for agriculture over the past 3 days.
