Ahh we're playing a free league so it's not like there's much to lose aside from time, but almost all of us who play them learned by failing haha.

It's a pretty solid waste of time with great bragging rights for a year tho.

Yup, my first go at fantasy baseball lol, trial and error!

Haha. It's all about the daily lineups and rotating hitters and pitchers on who is going today. It's a ton different and more daily interactions than football. Hitters dont play more than 140 of the 162 games in 180 days in a year, there's doubleheaders, pitchers that only throw every 5 days so you can waive them after a start, pick up an injured player, store them on IL and pick your pitcher back up all before they start again. There's usually a ton you can do to pick up a few more points in a day. Especially while we are still having full series moved due to a positive covid test. Like washington and NYM players might be done for the whole weekend if that positive test gets confirmed. I think it is the most interactive fantasy sport because a knuckleballer breaking a fingernail can mess your lineup up haha.

Umm there are players that play all 162 it definitely isn't the standard, 20 games seems like alot to miss for scheduled maintenance thats roughly a game a week for a 5month season. Maybe the vets, the young guys should not need that much planned down time.

Cal Ripken Jr comes to mind obviously so does sweet Lou

Joey Votto for sure did it a couple times not for last couple years tho, I've played with guys that played against votto growing up.

Yep it's just increasingly less likely this year. You could see relievers touch 100 innings this year and a lot of starters not go over 150. You're not gonna want to someone to throw 200 innings after they havent pitched in 2 years. And with covid rescheduling already pointing to double headers, those 162 game players also become less likely. I think this year you could see around 1700-1800 different people chew up major league innings this year.

Every time you look there will be a new guy playing or someone you never heard of getting hot or whatever. None of us are going to be totally on top of 1700 or 1800 players lol

Yeah, you know it's going well when you have a Rule 5 pick outfielder throwing 71 MPH meatballs the first weekend of the season. That's kind of a midsummer blowout vibe not a first weekend thing. I worry for them to get anything more than a good draft pick for this year.

I've said that about the As before and they've proven me wrong tho so we shall see.
